He played at Jesuit and Delgado, and the Wolfpack crapped the bed against TCU in regionals.

On Sunday's starter Preston Morrison:
quote:
“Morrison has good stuff, and he loves to stay away on the outside part of the zone,” Riley said. “His fastball stays around 86-88 mph, and his favorite pitch is his slider with an occasional changeup.”
On the TCU lineup:
quote:
“A lot of their hitters were slap hitters,” Riley said. “The only person who could really drive the ball was [Evan] Skoug.”

slap hitters can provide problems---especially against a bullpen who issues walks.
The tigers will need to score more than 4 to win IMO. I am looking forward to the bats coming alive.

More of a summary than a scouting report, eh?

Well, the guy is a player and not a scout so I guess so. Some interest info nonetheless.

Poche is starting, not Lange.

You realize Poche is pitching?

No, Poche is pitching. Poche has had some rough 1st innings leading to an early exit this season. Scrappy hitters like TCU can chase starters out by the 6th due to pitch count.
I think we need 5 runs or we lose. Just my opinion. I also think we can get 5 runs with our lineup.

i think if we can manage to play within ourselves, take it one pitch at time, and score more runs than TCU we will win.
