quote:Yeah, this was a couple episodes ago. First brought up when Margaery was on trial, then reinforced a couple times with Cersei, at least once with that exact title before they took her too.
The high septon already referred to Mother's Mercy...it's when the person confesses and pleads for a lenient punishment.
That was the option she was so opposed to, when ways of her being released were discussed.

Whatever Cersei confesses, it won't be what we think it is.
That said, here's what I think it is: She confesses to something innocuous, or petty. She's smart, but not brilliant. She'll say she slept with Jamie once, but all her heirs are true born. Kind of a "all the best lies have some truth" thing. I think the above is possible.
I think it's FAR more likely that her "confession" is that the Sparrow owes all his power to her, and that she erred in letting him run amok. So she confesses, but to a totally different crime than she committed, and then claims all the rest of the charges are trumped up by a power hungry zealot (the Sparrow) in an attempt to gain power.
She'll make herself the victim, I think, and it might even sell.

quote:I don't think she confesses to anything requiring major punishment (killing Robert for example), but she'll say enough to get out of the cell. After seeing her drink off the floor, I don't think she plays around at all, not regarding the Sparrow. She wants her freedom, and I believe she will say anything she has to to gain it.

Once she's free (and possibly out of official power), I do think her single goal in life is to have the Sparrow and especially the nun killed off.

I still think she'll confess only to empowering the Sparrow. It'll raise enough questions that she'll be able to get out.

quote:The Sparrow has already said this is a religious trial, and he will be one of the judges (there will be 7 septons). If she pre-emptively confesses, they will be judging whether she is suitably contrite or not. Just me, but if I want out of that cell, I'm not antagonizing my judge.

Now, once she's out, I'm sure there will be payback.

Predictions:
Arya kills Meryn with Needle.
Theon/Sansa kill Ramsey. (remember she still has the shank she picked up on her walk with Ramsey)
Brienne kills Stannis.

the fact remains you called me a reader for stating something that was in the show.
idiot.
Didn't you do the same to me. Not so fun when the worm turns.
Obviously paying attention to the show instead of posting "yea tittays" or dancing bananas while it is on like some of these jabroneys makes one a book reader.

Pretty sure Sonehog is a chick. They are the most emotional poster I have seen on any boards. Also, is apparently distracted or too emotional to pay attention to what happens in the show if she missed the conversation between Cersei and the High Sparrow about the Queen, her brother and Mother's Mercy that is doled out by the court.
The show right before Hardhome she was saying that the writers were probably patting themselves on the back for being so good, when in actuality according to her they sucked. Funny that it was that very episode that informed everyone that was awake and paying the least bit of attention what Mother's Mercy meant.
Hog needs to stick to Disney movies where the good guys always win and live happily ever after. Every time a good guy dies or a bad guy doesn't she goes off on an emotional tangent about how horrible the show and writers are. Not realizing the the uncertainty and not being a predictable Disney movie is what makes this show so great.

I've had several posts (like Yahoo! and Buzzfeed) on my FB feed that suggest that the finale is going to "break the internet".

This is the only episode I didn't watch two or three times in its entirety (I've watched the last 15 or so minutes). I couldn't stand to see Princess Shireen burned at the stake again. frick Stannis.

i want more of those blue eyed ice people. There is something about them that is interesting. They have those cool black uniforms almost like a futuristic nights watch. i want Snow to join with them to take over westeros in an epic 180 betrayal of humanity.
