Western conference semis game 3 Golden State came out and won by 20 at Memphis.
Cleveland isn't Memphis, in fact, it doesn't correlate at all.

They also erased a 20 point lead last game in what? 12 game minutes?
Cleveland has been known to blow big leads late in the game and they will adjust from what happened that allowed GS to close the gap. But I guess that you forgot Cleveland was up 20 in the first place.

And yes. I think the Cavs will be gassed. And what LeBron is doing is borderline impossible. And unsustainable.
Agree to disagree barring injury.

So it's impossible for Cleveland to lose by 20+ despite all of that relevant points I just made?

I agree, it is partially true. The whole truth is Cleveland's defense and their dictating offense is exposing the Warriors. Blame it on missing open shots or whatever else most people want to blame it on not named Cleveland, but those are just excuses.
Something can be a reason and not an excuse. They are missing their shots, therefore making Cle's D even more effective because GS is panicking and throwing up dumb shots and the Cavs are able to pack it in cause GS can't shoot
I don't have to make an excuse for the Warriors. I thought they played dirty against the Rockets, but didn't say much because I would have sounded like a homer. I think because Bogut is pulling on a smaller Thompson who goes with it more than Howard, Cle is getting those calls. Howard was throwing elbows and retaliating instead of being smart and drawing fouls under the basket

2 of your points were not relevant at all.

How is dropping 101 on the road in the playoffs against a better defensive team than Cleveland not relevant?

Also, hard to tell if GS truly figured something out in the 4th qtr or if there just isnt't as much pressure when your down 20.
The only thing they figured out was throwing up ridiculous threes and a few fell.

They aren't missing their shots because they somehow magically forgot how to shoot in the NBA finals for 3 games. It's not like they are playing against air on offense. Cleveland came up with a defensive and offensive strategy against the Warriors offense and it has worked but what all the casual fan sees is GS missing shots they usually make. Well no shite. That's the same crowd that says LBJ dissappeared vs the Mavs in 2011, not realizing the Mavs defensive strategy made him disappear.

So a game that means going up 3-1 for one team or evening the series up for the other is really important? Shocking!
Posted on 6/11/15 at 7:53 am to 13SaintTiger
yeah its important... but more important to golden state. The cavs are in the driver seat right now, and have it to where golden state can not win the title unless they win two games in cleveland.

Better defensive? Prove it.....
And it's irrelevant because the obvious, LBJ. As well as the other matchups, the box scores, role players. They relied on a heavy dose of Green, Barnes, and Bogut to beat the Grizzlies, that can't do that vs the Cavs. It is extremely hard to change your identity 3 games into the finals and have success.

You aren't going to convince me Cleveland can't lose by 20 tonight. You just can't. They probably won't lose by that much. But I definitely won't be shocked if they do.
Also, virtually every team defensive statistic points to Memphis being a better defensive team than Cleveland during the 14-15 season. This is more about proving what Golden State is capable of.

I'd be shocked if either team lost by 20. Steve Kerr is too smart to get blown out and so is Blatt/LBJ.

Care to talk about playoff defensive statistics?

Statistical anomalies happen in smaller sample sizes. Cleveland has only played like 20 games or so this playoffs, with 10 of them being against teams who aren't good offensively

Its the playoffs. Everyone gets a fresh start, a clean slate. What isn't an anomaly is that Cleveland has been better defensively without Kyrie and Love, hell they haven't lost a game yet with both of them out. If you want to classify it as an anomaly to the regular season, then fair, but as far as the playoffs are they are what the playoffs stats say they are.

I think this is the most pivotal game for the Cavs. How much juice does LeBron have? They win this game, he can not go as hard in game 5 to rest for 6.
Not sure if LeBron can carry this team all by himself for 7 games though.

"Must win" for the Warriors, obviously. You could make the case that it is as much as a "must win" for the Cavs as well.
The winner of this game most likely wins the series.

The series will be decided tonight IMO. I think it will largely depend on JR Smith and Iman Shumpert playing worth a damn on the offensive end. Everyone can talk about GS playing poorly, but Smith is playing worse than anybody on the court right now. LeBron will get his and Thompson will go for around 17 and 10. They need that third guy and I expect Delladova to struggle tonight. Warriors are going to come out firing and if they see a struggling Cavs player answer right back, the doubt is going to get even stronger.

This is partially true and they deserve a lot of credit for what they have done defensively throughout the playoffs. You can't ignore the fact that GS has been missing an inordinate number of uncontested shots though.
