Yeah his command is all over the place and he only has one true pitch from the times I've seen him. It would be a lot of work to convert him to a starter, fast track him as a reliever for sure

I think I was the only one neutral on it. Love it now though if it allows us to sign Cameron

It's hard to argue with a strategy that seems highly likely to end up netting three major leaguers at the top of a draft.

Pick 109: Anthony Hermelyn, catcher from OU!!

What do you know about him? I like adding a college catcher this early

MLB.com sez....OU guy said to have played well behind the plate when given the full-time job during this season. Could also project to third base. Good contact and OBP guy. Ticks all the boxes when it comes to addressing our needs, at least.

This was the main thing I was wondering. Would be great if he can stick behind the plate

If you'd have asked me before the draft I would've guessed late single digit round pick, but I'm no expert. He broke out last summer in the Cape Cod league and made the All-Star game for that league, then continued his success. Much better power numbers this season than his first 2, but not anything super crazy. Solid back stop as far as I could tell, didn't go to too many games this season.

This season (at Cape Cod in 2014), he batted .323 with 20 runs, 10 RBIs and a .414 on-base percentage. He has also been masterful behind the plate, both defensively and in managing the talented Harwich staff with an excellent hand at framing pitches and calling games. He also had a superb collegiate season at Oklahoma, seeing an increase in all offensive statistics in second year with the Sooners.

Maybe some team will trade a young #4 starter and backup catcher for him
If that's in the scouting report I would say they are definitely keeping him behind the plate

Maybe so, if he projects to become chubby and Asian.

I just picked up a new astros flatbillish type hat today. 47' brand orange with navy bill and AL log on side. Pimpin!

Pick 139: Trent Thornton RHP UNC

Watching him throw just looks painful.
