Do you have a hot tub with your swimming pool?

Give me your opinion. Last pool question. Thanks

I tried to install a hot spring next to the pond but my contractor/geologist said it was infeasible.

Wish I would have done it when I had my pool built.

Yes...it is 6" higher than the pool and overflows into the pool on 2 sides--sort of. We use it frequently. It is 8'x8'.
It is heated by a 400,000 BTU gas heater (pool and spa)-in summer it heats to 104° in 15 minutes tops. In winter it takes about 45 minutes..it is fantastic in the winter!

We have one, besides the waterfall option it's a waste. Basically a hot bathtub. Not enough jets as a true hot tub

I regret not doing it with my pool. I've seriously considered a remodel at some point to add a spa.

One more thing you may consider is called a chair deck...if you notice in the pic, you will see there is an 8x10 section on the left that is only 6" deep--little kids love it as well as the dogs--they will sit in it on a hot day.

Depends which house you're talkin about.

In-laws have the spill over type. They regret getting it, hardly ever use it. I'd like to think I'd use it more if it were mine but I'm not sure I would.

I went with a gas fire pit where a hot tub would go. Fountains come out of side. Easy spot to sit and have drinks while the kids swim. Makes a great fall/ winter entertaining area.

I agree with Marco. I believe it is called a Baja ledge. Ours is 18 feet wide. Our spillover is heated as well.
We use the hell out of ours.

Also note...if you do decide to run with a hot tub, it is not too much more to just heat the pool too. The plumbing is already there, you will just need a couple auto-valves and increase the size of the heater.
You won't use it often, but it is pretty neat to have family/friends over to swim when it is 38° outside!! I actually heated the entire pool a few times to 104°, which is the max temperature for the hot tub...Atmos was happy.

If you go through the trouble of building a custom pool, I think a hot tub is a necessity. You can use it every month of the year unlike the pool.
