Drill Sergeant Godbolt at Fort Jackson.

Thought of him still drives fear into me heart. He was appropriately named.

That's an awesome name. Don't remember mine's name but pretty big guy who left for SFAS during our cycle and had a heart attack during it. Definitely the the one I was hoping I wouldn't get while loading on the buses and sure enough, I was assigned to him. 1-50 Ft. Benning

He wasn't even in my platoon and he still knew every one of us.

I remember now, DS Riley. He kind of reminded me of the grouch because of the trash can lid looking like his DS hat and a jaw as square as Stan from American Dad

SSgt Roughan. Saw him lay a couple guys out. 100% all the time. He killed a dude during some water training a couple years later. Got off.

Eta.. This was Marines.

Drill Sergeant Smith. He was hard as hell all the way until the last week, when he actually stood and talked with us like we were almost human. I will never forget that. Before that I had envisioned him even cursing his grandma.

Haynes

He was from NOLA and I made the mistake of being from a suburb of that fair city.

I can remember damn near all of them. They all were dicks at times but they all had their individual dick personality.

Drill Sergeant Shelton was my favorite. He was a short white guy from Tennessee built like Mighty Mouse and loved to listen to Jay Z.

Right before smoking us he would yell, "For my Spainish speaking privates. El half..El right..El front leano..El positiono."

SGT Hulka. We lost him to a training accident, but he rejoined us at our first duty station.

ETA: He was our big toe

Staff sergeant Barnes (green belt)
Dude loved that I was from New Orleans.
He loved New Orleans rap. Brought me in the DI hut and made me listen to that shite at the POA every night I drew fire watch. If I laughed, I got IT'd.

SSG Joseph Kuhl, but SSG Mallett (from the Lake Charles area) comes a close second - Kuhl took over from Mallett as our platoon drill sergeant.

SSG Sarte is third. I can't remember any of the other names. I remember, vividly, speeches given by each of the three I named - and that was 27 years ago.

Drill Sgt. Wallace at Ft. Knox. he looked like a skinny version of Bubba from Forrest Gump and he had a lisp that made Sylvester the Cat sound normal. His favorite name for just about everyone was "biscuit-head" except coming from him it sounded like "bithcut-head". Anytime one of us would draw his ire, which was pretty much all the time, he'd say "Pwavate Bithcut-head, Ew juss go on an dwap and give me fwiffy". Dude my my life hell for 13 weeks.

SFC Sparpanic - 258 House of Pain Fort Benning. He was SF and sniper with CIB. He would come to formation every morning drunk and smelling like an ashtray. I was PG and he would totally smoke me and everyone else in PT and all training. He was a real hard arse!
