Can a "non-morning person" ever turn into a "morning person"?

My wife is a huge morning person. She wakes up super early with tons of energy instantly and with a big smile on her face.
I am the opposite. I hate waking up and getting out of my comfortable bed early before work. It takes me over an hour for my mind to wake up even when I drink coffee the minute I get up. I get plenty of sleep, but it doesn't help.
Will this ever change or am I doomed to hate waking up early for the rest of my life? I fear its hard coded into my DNA.

Hating waking up never goes away. It just gets easier after doing it a bunch of times

I become into a huge morning person on vacations. Don't mind waking up earlier so I have that much longer in the day to enjoy my vacation surroundings.
Also more of a morning person on my days off for the same reason(to have more time to enjoy the day).

I'm in your boat as well, sitting in bed as we speak even though I woke up a half hour ago. I won't be awake fully for probably another hour even with coffee. I hope I grow out of it eventually, but snoozing the alarm is so nice some mornings

I'm trying. But right now, it is really a struggle.
I was doing really well waking up at 4:30 am to work out, then I hurt my back and took a week off, and now it is taking me forever to get back into the routine of waking up that early again.
I'm fine once I get out of bed, its just the act of getting out of bed that is so hard for me.

Which I do for work obviously, and will continue to do.
I just wish one day I could start waking up all peppy and happy like the wife. I just don't think its in the cards

starte banging your wife in the shower every morning will turn you into a morning person.

Another reason I like working nights. When you sleep during the day and your "morning" is the afternoon it never feels like you are having to get up early for work.

I'm similar. However, since I hit a certain age, I naturally wake up earlier (6ish). I've found what helps for me is...
-Don't consume alcohol or sleep aids the night before (I know, it sucks).
-Drink plenty of water.
-The earlier I go to bed, the better I feel in the morning (rocket science, I know).
It isn't anything that has happened over night. I essentially had to train myself overtime. Now, there is no way I could sleep past 9:00 (even after a late night). Which sucks for those Saturdays where I'd really like to catch up.

Have a baby. That'll do the trick; you'll be a morning person as in "I wake up at 4 in the morning every fricking day."

"Non-morning person" is just a fancy term for lazy. Stop being lazy and you will become a morning person.

The shitty part for me is that I can't sleep past 7 or 8 either, even on weekends. I just lay in bed with my eyes shut for an hour.
Same thing that happens when I wake up at 6 on work days, but I can't lay there as long moping.

Put in a routine for the early morning (usually a workout) and do it for 3 weeks straight. It'll become natural. My body keeps waking up at 4:30-5:00am... Too early ugh
guess more time to lift/swim/bike/run~

I've turned into a morning person. I do still need my coffee though. If I ever sleep past 9 on the weekends...I'm pissed.
I'm assuming you don't have kids? I don't either yet, but I figure that would force you into a morning person.

I am not lazy. Period. I work my arse off and I'm constantly moving while I awake, including weekends.
My body and mind just don't snap out of sleep cycles quickly.

No, but I'm sure you're right.
Not looking forward to that part of parenthood

You still might hate it, but you'll definitely be getting yourself into a routine.
