I know there will be a lot of questions about this, but no matter who wins between UNCW and Tulane, we will be the home team. After the first round, the team that has been home the fewest number of times will be the home team. After today's games, the home/away count for the remaining teams:
LSU (1 home, 1 away)
Tulane (1 home, 1 away)
UNCW (2 home, 0 away)
Since Tulane has only been home once and UNCW twice, Tulane will be the home team for their elimination game. That will make the count:
LSU (1 home, 1 away)
Tulane (2 home, 1 away)
UNCW (2 home, 1 away)
Comparing us to either team, we will have only been home once, and the winner of the elimination game will have been home twice. Therefore, we're the home team.

It will be asked once for each time we see that sweeeeet Dr Pepper commercial.

Hear is how you fix this, the higher seed should always be the home team, no more confusion.

I decided to make a thread about it so I can try to keep the answer on the first page. Hopefully it will cut down on the questions.

Why was UNCW home today? Both were home on Friday

If both teams have been home and away the same number of games, there's a coin flip to decide the home team. UNCW won the coin flip and was the home team against us.

It's hard to believe that in 2015 athletics, a coin flip is used a tiebreaker when there are so many other factors which could be used.
Seeding, conference winning percentage, RPI, SOS, etc.

Seems like the seeding should be used.
Who has been home more is just dumb. It makes all teams treated equally. If that is the case why seed. It's a trophy generation approach.
I could see making the lower seeded team the home team if playing a better seeded team but where the lower seeded has a better record in the tourney ... ie where the better seeded team is coming out of the losers bracket.

I will forever be of the mindset that the highest seed should be the home team in each game they play. Otherwise what is the advantage of being #1 other than in the first game?
