We don't need them. They need us. Hopefully the South American countries agree as well.

FIFA doesn't need US Soccer as much as you think.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm, MAYBE that could apply to the US.....but pretty much the rest of CONCACAF definitely need FIFA.

Though they do need our sponsors. Would they follow the US out though? Probably not.

Umm a massive chunk of their sponsors are American companies. Coca-Cola, McDonald's, etc.

Were you under the impression that CONCACAF wasn't a major driver behind corruption in FIFA, or something?
I don't know why people are so surprised that the US was able to build a case against high level FIFA officials since CONCACAF is headquartered in the US. Jack Warner was brazenly open about being corrupt as frick.

Dude was cripwalking at an event like 6 hours after he was released. He doesn't give a shite.

"Although he's working for Trinidad and Tobago he's writing under Fifa letterheads, trying to impress everybody. Forget all this talk about directors of football - if he's vice-president of Fifa, God help everybody. He's obviously quick to let people know he's in a position of power. But sometimes these people get up the ladder and I don't know how."

People are freaking out, but this is a step in the right direction. In the next election, Blatter will almost certainly lose, and I'd be surprised if he lasts the entire term. The scandal just broke this week, and there wasn't enough time for the right candidate to run and appease all the people that needs appeasing. This is the most pressure Blatter has ever been under, and if the DOJ investigation continues, I really don't expect him to stay.

Maybe I'm crazy for thinking this or just overly optomistic, but I know those dudes are gonna start talking, and I just don't see Blatter making it through his term.

The support that was mustered for Prince Ali since Figo's letter, and the concurrent investigation and arrests are a great thing for the sport long term.

I hope you all are correct, I'm not optimistic about FIFA EVER being honest. There are too many poor federations, crooks, and much of the world does business through corruption, graft, and bribery.

I've really enjoyed these last few days because with the arrests and all it's nice to finally see the troll get trolled. FIFA is legit the world's biggest IRL troll. Except for maybe North Korea. I think it's close.
