They can't lose the moral high ground...
They can when they do something immoral like this. Where is the ethics in being a dick just for the sake of being a dick?

Freedom of speech, even offensive speech, is your right.
This isn't about a Right, it's about being right. Using a Right responsibly is almost as important as the Right itself.

Anyone who would kill you for your speech hates your freedom.
Think about it..
Think about it..

Ahhh the good old morality argument.
Whose morality are we using, again?
The Muslim morality? Atheist? Fundamentalist Christian?

No. They find drawings of their prophet to be disrespectful. To organize such an event is deliberately disrespectful. They hate deliberate disrespect.
Again, I don't understand why they find it so offensive and I don't agree with killing anyone over anything just because it's offensive.. but the freedom argument.. eh...

As opposed to not having morals? Is that your platform?

How about common decency? How about having honor?

It's not morality, but ethics which can be removed from the religious conversation.
In the US, and the west, there is a perception that we hold ourselves to a higher, more civilized standard. If that isn't the case then we're no better than the enemies we percieve to be less civilized.

What?
Freedom of speech is an eh argument?
Lolz.
You may not agree with their speech, but then again I don't agree with a lot of speech. Doesn't mean I want or think those people should be killed.

Yes. Your argument was that you think they're doing this because they hate our freedoms. I personally do not agree with that argument.

Actually, accepting of all speech, even offensive speech is seen as a sign of a vastly more civilized society...

So is not taking a shite on the doorstep of your enemies.

So you're saying Muslim people in the US are our enemies?
That's odd...

The constitution affords all of us the inalienable right to perform ignorant and incendiary actions.

There are some, yes. To behave in this manner, in this location is a provocation of those enemies and an excellent recruitment tool for those enemies to utilize as well.
Look, I'm with you as far as free speech is concerned. I'm with you in despising Islamic extremists. I don't believe this particular version of protest accomplishes anything other than helping those that are our enemies to further coalesce action against us.

And those people should be singled out and dealt with accordingly..
The people at this mosque had nothing to do with the terrorists that they are associated with. Nothing. Yet they will be ridiculed because stupid bikers associate anyone who worship at a mosque to be a terrorist who is trying to burn America to the ground.
Think about that.

I believe freedom trumps fear.
I'm not afraid of the coalescing because people exercise their freedoms.
When gay marriage is legalized they'll hate us even more...

True. The Constitution does not restrict anyone from being a dickhead. It is a right, but as a previous poster stated, there's a difference between being a right and being right.

They're not being ridiculed.
Cartoonists are going to draw satirical images of a long dead religious figure.
Do you think cartoon images of jesus ridicule Christians?

Quite obviously. That doesn't mean that all forms of free speech are justified. These people are obviously trying to start a fight and the sympathizers to a-holes who wait outside the doors of a mosque to verbally torment muslims are a pathetic bunch who think brawn trumps using your brain.
