Hit submit too soon...

I know this is random, but we were just talking about it.

I loved Lafonda' bean dip. Was the recipe ever leaked? I know that the family wouldn't give it up when the restaurant was still open.

I do too!!!

I'm craving that damn dip right now and I can't have any.

I doubt it was anything complicated either. I just want to know how to make the damn dip!

I make something kinda like it.

Can pinto beans with jalapeño drained
Hot salsa (I like it hot)
Put in food processor and run until consistency you like

Man I miss that place. I enjoyed the tacos and the way they use to do burritos. Would be nice to have the recipe.

Never knew the bean dip, but if I could get the recipe for the flat cheese enchiladas, I'd be in heaven.

For over 15 years of my life (im young), we went to LaFonda's at least once a month. From the ages of 12-23 (before I moved and when I could pick my own meal), I always had an order of flat cheese enchiladas, and a hard taco. I'm getting all sad and nostalgic just thinking about it.

False I am sure I would have seen you there. My folks went there for every Father's Day and for most of our family birthdays.

They need bigger bowls than those little crappy silver things that only hold about 2 tablespoons.

Apparently no one knows, and if they do, they won't give it up.

I ate there pretty frequently in the 90s. The secret ingredient to the bean dip was really sharp, "feet-y" bleu cheese.
