Huckabee just posted his staunch defense on Facebook -- an incredibly bold move considering he's in the middle of seeking the Republican nomination for president. so might vote for hilary now.

It's OK to rape your sisters. God will forgive you. In his forgiveness, you'll find inner peace.
frick you religion.

I don't know why, in a million years, you think they would ever bring it up themselves. Not only did it happen before they became "famous" but it also involved their children who were all minors. Would you go and talk bad about your kids to prove that you aren't "hiding" anything?
Yes, they are hypocrites for speaking out and strongly condemning others but I don't recall them preaching that they were perfect people who did no wrong.

If the show gets canceled the family will make a fortune with an "I stand with Josh Duggar and against the evil liberal media" GoFundMe page. It's a win-win for them.

Again, where is the "persecution?"
There's tons of persecution on this website for Christians. I've been laughed at repeatedly and told my beliefs are made up fairy tales, and that I'm dumb and simple minded for believing in them. It's way more than just "teasing".
When I try to explain why I believe what I believe, people either just laugh or say "why don't you worship the Easter bunny".
In the world today, I don't understand why Muslims are sacred, but Christians are free game that anyone can put down.
I have thick skin, so I don't lose any sleep what other people think of me on here, but Christians in general aren't treated well on this site. Hence why religion threads are usually whacked.

So they've put out statements already but if they do come out and talk about it on the show in a few weeks, will it affect your opinion?

There are entire threads on this site devoted to the question of nuking all muslims, try again.

nope. they would be forced to at this poitn. its too late. the damage is already done, i don't believe shite they say anymore. I wonder how much of their protectiveness over the years was more bc of josh doings and not their religion.... i don't care, their credibility is shot.

Guess you've never heard of Galileo. Did the Holy Spirit just decide one day it was time to stop protecting the idea of a Geocentric universe?

Wow. From being fed to lions to being laughed at. "Persecution" apparently is a very, very broad term.

I agree that Christians arent' treated well here or in the real world. But, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's persecution when people are literally dying and getting their heads cut off in other countries.

Geocentric was never part of Catholic doctrine. Many catholics and non-catholics alike believed it. Many catholics (wrongly) persecuted those who didn't. But it was never part of the necessary beliefs for salvation. That has never changed.

I meant in real life, you know, what actually matters.

I scanned the police report last night. It's about 30 pages. Feel so sorry for the girls. At least one child talked about being spanked and there was a rod involved, but not bruising or injuries. I guess the spanking was way back when because I think I've read something about the discipline they invoke as not including spanking.
Any way you look at it, it's a sad story. I can understand the family not wanting to throw the boy away to the cops. There was a discussion about sending him somewhere at first, but they were advised by the elders, I believe, that the place would include some unsavory kids to whom the boy shouldn't be exposed as it might create other problems. Something along those lines.
What surprised me was there was no mention of getting him or the girls real counseling. Sounds like they just prayed, which is fine, but not by itself, I don't believe.
This sort of thing can and has happened in plenty of families. I wouldn't throw darts at this family for it. I'm not sure what I would do as far as going to the police, but I'm sure I would get counseling for everyone involved and if that resulted in legal trouble for the boy, so be it, I suppose. The problem is that when he gets into legal trouble, the girls are brought into unless there's a plea. I wouldn't want my daughters to have to deal with any of this any more than was necessary to ensure they're mental and emotional states were good.

They way you sound is you were looking for a reason to throw in the towel...
Chad504boy
How would you have handled the situation before being famous with your own children if this would have happened and then if given the opportunity to be in the spotlight on a show would you have announced this first or thought to yourself this ain't none of anyone's business because it was personal or a family matter and was already handled? I'm asking you personally now..I threw it out there earlier and only 2 have said something..but I'm asking you if you and your family were in this situation what would you do..plain and simple..

There's a lot of sheltered and ignorant people on this website that think things like this never happen and they should have gone to the police immediately and put the 14 year old in juvi. There's a lot of prominent families where stuff like this happens and its swept under the rug. No family is perfect with no skeletons.

If you have the time read over this and tell me what you think..
My biggest issue is still having this show, profiting off of it for years with the show based solely on the character, morals, and family foundation values that they live by when they have this horrible skeleton in the closet. You can't do that. I'm sorry, you can not be a marriage counselor and not immediately disclose to your clients that you've been divorced 4 times.
I can care less about how they handled it etc. They brought to a state trooper who was a family friend... all the facts that are brought up have lots of grey area. They made a business decision to keep this disclosed.
