White people didn't do that.

Constantly selling houses cheap when bailing from neighborhoods the moment they see minorities certainly didn't help.

Is that what most white people think? Still in many cities - for example DC, NYC, and LA - whites are replacing minorities in many urban neighborhoods.

What he said has merit. I'll give a shiny new quarter to the first person that can show me a majority white neighborhood that was resettled by minorities but maintained its property value, showed no increase in crime, or any real decline.

Good fricking luck

What did he say that was erroneous with exception to the generalization.

Well first of all, he's justifying someone's property being burned down simply because they're African American and living on his side of town.

If you see the writing on the wall, you do what you can to salvage whatever you have left.

A nice landlord will buy your house cheap and section 8 it.

so let's be clear here, you're saying it's ok for someone's house, the property they worked hard to buy and own, to be burnt to the ground simply because they are black. And to think you're a cop smh.

And what's happening to housing prices in those neighborhoods?

That ain't racist that's the truth. You take any hood in the U.S., matter of fact any hood in the civilized world, and every single one looks third world. Why should people accept them and allow the same to happen to their neighborhoods. Take a look at Detroit, Baltimore, New Orleans, St. Louis, I can go on and on. Detroit is an ideal example. fricking Detroit used to be the most prosperous city in the country and now it is bankrupt.

Thus proving the theory.

I wasn't speaking about the arson. Purely about the decline of a neighborhood once minorities move in.

I think you already knew that but hand picked a line from my post to deflect from the truth.

Only the most elite areas of most towns will not go down after 35-40 years because its easier to move than to do the infrastructure and home maintenance and repair needed

30 years is a long time

40 years ago I lived in Sherwood Forest BR

Moving to the hottest part of town every 10 years was a great investment move in the past

Oh of course the majority of tRant does not see anything wrong with this. The same dumb arse people on here will defend this guy in one breath and in another tell you the same discriminatory practices of the 50s and 60s have no bearing on society today. Well I wonder where this trash from the video got the ideology of "our side of town" and "their side of town." The arse hole from the video should speak to a couple Native Americans before he starts complaining about his neighborhood being invaded.

Lower middle class blue collar whites are often the most vocal about their "situation"

Really most everybody hates change

The reporter seems shocked

I see two people out of touch with reality

One reality is, some people are more than comfortable expressing their racism

Right. I give you that. He's definitely 1000% wrong about that.

But at the same time the REASON he's giving is what a good majority of people in that area are thinking. As wrong as it is, what he's saying is "Stay on your side of the tracks and leave our neighborhood alone".

And I get that. The person who burned their house deserves to be dropped into the east side of Buffalo with a KKK outfit on and let the wolves come to feast.

But he has a legit concern about the health of his neighborhood. And he has good reason to be concerned. History is on his side with respect to majority black neighborhoods.

And it's never going to change until a REAL black leader arises and stops blaming whites for their plight.

Until then... Section 8 reigns.

7th you one of by black brothers on here. I ain't gonna shoot the shite on this question. Why is it in almost every city is there a side of town that is considered a Hood and the people living in it blame the government for their demise? Now almost 95% of the time their district is represented by a long time black congressman or woman that constantly blames everyone else. Yet every election they vote that same as sorry arse back into congress. Still no jobs , drugs, gangs, etc. You would think people would want them out and bring in change but not re-elect this person.

We got one out here Corrine Brown biggest racist out there but she is reelected every time and she even passes out cheat sheets on election day telling everyone in her district who to vote for. I mean if it ain't working find someone who will.
