Contrary to popular belief, there are still alot of people who love this country

And many of them aren't even Americans.
Towards the end of March, my unit was finishing up a short deployment to the Baltics as part of the still ongoing Operation Atlantic Resolve. Instead of flying back to our home base in Germany, the USAEUR General came up with Operation Dragoon Ride, which was basically a 1000+ mile road march across Eastern Europe back to our base.
The reception we got in Poland took us by surprise. The reception we got in the Czech Republic left us dumbfounded.
Montage video I made
Raw video I took while in Czech
I've never seen anything like it, and I probably never will. From what I hear, this was pretty much a non-story back in the states, and that's unfortunate. I can't tell you the number of people who came up to us in tears thanking us for being here. Many of them remember what it was like under Communist rule, and how disappointed the citizens of Pilsen were when the Americans who liberated them left. I had an older gentlemen show me a picture from 1945 of an American tank with a bunch of boys on top. He pointed to one of the boys and said "That's me, 70 years ago" He then told me his one wish was that we would stay in Czech forever. When I explained to him that our base in Germany was only 2 hours away and if there ever comes a time when they need our help, we'll be here, he broke down crying.
I signed more autographs and took more pictures to last a lifetime. But all this has NOTHING to do with me and EVERYTHING to do with our country, our flag, and what it represents. And it's a damn shame that these people in a little country in Eastern Europe understand that better than some of our own citizens.
I hope yall enjoy the videos and take a second to listen to some good news for once. I know we could all use it.

Thanks for sharing! That's amazing and I thank you for serving this country. I really do. With all that's going on it sometimes seems difficult to stay positive but stuff like this should put things into perspective for all of us.

I'm down with trading all of the "America is racist" people and flag stompers for those Czechs. We need more national pride.

I'll disagree a little. Not everyone puts on the uniform and goes to places to defend someone else; a bunch of did and still do.
Thanks for being one of "those" guys.

Expecting more and better from the greatest country on this earth, and holding your fellow countrymen to some level of moral and civic accountability and culpability doesn't equate to hating your country.
It's called you can't take the good without looking at ways to improve the areas needed for improvement![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconusaflagsmiley.gif)

Thank you for posting this.
I really had no idea people in other countries gathered to cheer on our military. I thought this was something that only happened back in the day.

Met both polish and Czech people this summer while working in yellowstone. Both were some of the best people I've ever met. Hard workers, and LOVED america
