one more series win should wrap up a national seed

well we got Misery coming in this weekend. Hopefully we can take 2.

Not surprised to see a bit of an RPI drop from playing Alcorn and MSU last week, but at least the MSU series was on the road. Bottom line: Another series win, another step closer to a national seed.

One thing I glanced from looking at the SEC stats. Missouri have given up the most stolen bases in the league this year. Teams are 55-68 against them.

And LSU has stolen like a Million bases this year !

2-1 vs. Missouri
Win vs. UNO
0-3 @ USC
0-2 @ SECT
That's 43-13 (18-11) with a 3-7 last ten and a likely sub (greater than) 10 RPI.
I know it's extremely unlikely. But "lock" and "wrapped up" get thrown around way too much. There's still much more work to do than just "winning one more series"

Yeah, getting swept in Columbia wouldn't be a good look at all for a national seed. I'd like to go at least 3-3 in our remaining SEC games, hopefully 4-2 so we can reach 20 SEC wins.

lot of baseball left to be played.

When people (like me) say one more series win should be enough, they don't assume losing every game after that. 3 more SEC wins should be enough.

quote:I guess to me those two statements are mutually exclusive and a little contradictory. Another way to put it is people who say "one more series win should be enough" are assuming other wins outside of that series. So... not just "one more series win" will do it.

That's how I take it.

Take it one game at a time...

Crooked numbers in games, straight numbers in polls.

We've done enough this season that it will be. Plus we know we won't go 0-2 in Hoover. PM has a rabbit's foot somewhere on that field.
