When asked about WR by the media. Mentioned Joe Morgan as well.

"I do feel confident in that position group ... Kenny trade would not have happened if we didn't have that confidence."
"We didn't approach it like we had to get a receiver ..."

Cited Jones & Coleman by name as well.

I think we're certainly fine with Cooks, Colston, Morgan, Toon. The thing I worry about is if anyone goes out with an injury for an extended period of time.

Give Brees protection and you'll be pleasantly reminded what the man can do with little.

You can't play the injury game because it will drive you crazy. The same thing could be said about many positions any given year for every team.

It was like LT last year, and CB and HB in other years. You have to be careful not to over react and spend too many resources shoring up your backups.

As it stands we have enough guys with experience in the system. It would have been nice to get another one but aside from the top guys you are talking about a third or fourth receiver at best(Colston's demise is still greatly exaggerated).

Payton lumps FBs and TEs together and there are four legit guys between those positions. And we only take four into most seasons between them.

Don't forget Coleman, Saunders, Jones, Hill, Watson, Johnson, Spiller, and the new RB.

Hill was the H back last year and that will be Johnson's role this year. Consider him replaced. Watson and Hill each step up a level or Hill steps up two levels, Lorig is still the FB, and Johnson the H back.

Not in the vertical passing game but he is a very competent short yardage receiver. Hell he looked better than Cadet did (then again that may be a bad comparison ).

Erik Lorig has played TE role some an at 6-3.5/255 with average speed. To me Johnson at 6-1.4/245 is more the H-back. Toben Opurum at 6-0/245 is a pure FB.Orson Charles at 6-2.6/250 also a TE/FB type also the Two UFDA TEs signed are With Harold Spears almost same size of Lorig an Jack Tabb more like Orson Charles body type.Look like Payton is looking for the next Dave Thomas clone.

The team addressed the Oline. Big need and that will pay dividends this year. We have enough play makers to do well. Brees needed time and hopefully that 1st round pick solidified that.
