I think the stones have some kind of Lord of the Rings effect on people.
Portman wasn't evil in Thor 2, and she was possessed.
I think it was the "AI". It just wasn't an AI.
That is what used the stone to influence Stark. It couldnt use full mind control without some one wielding it at a weapon though.
Remember how Banner picked it up in the first Avengers? He has never used a weapon. Hos first instinct is big and green. Why would he pick it up? Unless it was influencing him, just like how I think it was influencing all of the anger and bickering.
Not the stones. Imo. The more I think about this, the more I flesh it out.
Stark is still partially under its influence somehow, and will be leading up to the Civil War. At least, that's my story and I am sticking to it.

Um, yes that make him a very bad guy
Do ANYTHING to win
to win....against the bad guys. That's makes him reckless, not a "bad guy." However...

it's not so much that he tried to do it again, but moreso that once again, it's in secret without asking anyone.
He asked Banner the first time fwiw.

he is the secondary antagonist of this movie whether you like it or not.
Yes and no. I would agree far more with antagonist than bad guy. Bad guy implies he's working against the good guys. He's not working against them, he just thinks his way of solving their problem is the best way. His actions make him antagonistic, however.
quote:
They make note that he keeps company with nefarious people (andy serkis)
does wild and dangerous things to satisfy his ego
the billions that are funding the avengers are made from weapons that murdered the olsen twins parents and countless others.
I could go on all day...iron man was a bad guy in this movie.
For someone who wants to pick movie's apart (and that's a good thing mind you), you're really reducing this down the wrong way. He isn't a "bad guy," and I can't believe you're hung up on that as a fault. He is antagonistic, faulty, etc. Not a villain.

As was said in the movie. Going to any length to prevent catastrophe, creates catastrophe. Slight paraphrase there.
I think like Abell does that Stark was being influenced. We also agree on what, kinda...

Well and Stark is the villain, or will be more of a villain, in Civil War. That's for sure.

I can sum up ex machina's genius AI creator with Oscar Isaac against a jackson pollack painting. I can sum up the avengers AI creator with a scene of him playing with holograms
please tell me you are trolling bc that is just fricking stupid.

I'm not really hung up on it.
like I said, I only have 2 complaints
1. too much and/or too fast (save for the captain, arrrrgh)
2. iron man is an a-hole
I could nitpick it to death like any movie, but these are the 2 things that really were a drag on the movie. I think it's better than the first (by a mile) I said good things about it, but I don't want to get too into this one because when I turn my brain on for something like the avengers, it starts to suck
so it was fun, and I want to keep it that way. Without thinking too much about it, those are the 2 things that bothered me, and I've said more positive about his than negative

slow down there fanboy, the point being that both of them essentially have the same motivation (cuz they can)
but one movie has a visually creative way of showing it (subtext)

Honestly, I'd probably agree with this. Set piece to set piece gets a little tiresome, but that's kind of the point of a comic book. a few pages of talk then, BOOM, big battle. It's just a different way of storytelling. No one wants these guys to stand around and talk for 2 hours.

This is in character. He's a major, major a-hole.

Fair enough.

in Civil War
and I'm just breaking balls before some fricking gay little fanboy with his captain crunch shirt comes in here and takes offense.

LOTR
Hobbit
GoT
Harry Potter
Star Wars Prequals
Any movie ever made based on a book

quote:Not only that, but we have a good idea of who lives and who dies based on who has already signed on for future movies. Chris Evans has already released his Infinity War (Avengers 3) schedule and some have speculated that he might die in Civil War. Just like we already know that Batman will be in Suicide Squad, etc.

Since I know basically nothing of the comic book versions of these people, as I haven't picked up a comic book since the late 70s when the Flash got a bunch of rocks stuck in him, I googled Civil War. From the Wikipedia entry on it... looks dang awesome if they follow that even roughly.
