toya didn't save her son because she was appeasing some conservative fetish for respectability politics.
She didn't want her son to be the next dead black teen in the streets. The realities that young boy faces on a daily bases is saddening. This shouldn't be happening in America.
It hasn't been glossed over that he's 16 and he stated that he's had several friends killed by police officers...already. Not gonna condone his actions, as his mom said, he knows better. That's the real sad story. The young man is gonna go back to a life were his life expectancy rate doesn't exceed 21. That's what people are crying about in the streets.
But I can't say I wouldn't be shocked either if he, at 16, had (misplaced) anger at police officers.

All this woe is me shite I keep hearing is driving me crazy.
I've never seen a group of people bitch and complain about more shite then y'all do.
If yall would spend half the time yall do bitching and complaining and apply that to actually getting off the porch/corner and getting a job and saving money, then maybe yall would be able to move out of the hood a lot sooner.

With as many black teens or young adults that claim to know people killed by the police you'd think every city was executing 4 or 5 a week

As a former 16 year old, I can say with certainty that he is lying and/or extremely, extremely exaggerating.
