Last summer was really bad in parts of Alabama. I had my yard sprayed, sprayed it myself a few times, sprayed the basement with some concentrate a guy at Home Depot told me was good, treated my dogs multiple times, bathed them weekly, and set off multiple rounds of bug bombs in the house every other week or so. I would get a little relief after the baths and bug bombs, but they would inevitably come back.

I understand it is going to be hard to keep them out of my basement where the dogs sleep, but I was wondering what products you have used with great success to kill fleas. They are already starting to show up, and it seems a little early. Probably from all the rain as well, but I want to stop them before it gets too bad.

Our dog has the Seresto collar - no bugs in 2 months of wearing it and family members swear by it.

I use granulated boric acid for fleas. My house is about 75% carpet and is easy to sweep into and it works for a long time.

After I came home for Katrina I had them in my house. Tried everything, and Bengal makes a flea spray that worked great. I would think regular Bengal would work as well.

Your doing right by treating your environment but you have to treat your pets as well since that's an important part of the flea life cycle. There are multiple options from topical meds, oral meds, and collars. But I will tell you that harts, Adams, and most other over the counter meds you get at grocery stores do not work well. If you decide to use topical meds do not apply them 2 days before or after a bath or you will not get the desired effect. I like the oral meds, trifexis, nexgard, bravecto.

Comfortis works very well for my dogs. It is a once a month pill that they believe is a treat.

For my yard, I use this:

32 oz 7.9% Bifenthrin Multi Use Pest Control Insecticide Same As Talstar Pro & Bifen IT ~ Kill Fleas Ticks Stink Bugs Centipedes Earwigs and more! Pesticide Termiticide

From Amazon, cost is approximately $32.00.
