OT bachelors; how often do you cook?

I got the inkling for tuna randomly tonight, and I don't like it all dried out when I get it home from a restaurant. First time cooking in probably a month. I order out 99% of the time because other people are better chefs than me and I don't have to clean the dishes.
Usual dinners cost me $15-35, and this one cost me $15. I don't see how this is cost effective at all

Cooking at home these days can be just as expensive as dining out, I just prefer to cook for myself and as I find it more convenient.

Geographic bachelor and I cook several times per week. When you start buying ingredients and figuring out several meals from them you will find that it costs a lot less than dining out.

It's probably less cost effective cooking for one but when you start cooking stuff like spaghetti, red beans, chili, etc where you can get 6-8 meals for ~20 bucks, you'll save some money

It's pretty basic though. Breakfast for supper, hamburgers, pork chops, steak... Chicken Fajitas are my specialty.

Rarely, it's just not worth it. Leftovers taste awful and making enough for one meal costs the same or less than eating out or takeout.

I eat a lot, so meals don't usually last that long. Eating two tuna steaks, a bag of yellow rice, and a small can of green beans tonight.
It just seems retarded in the grand scheme of things
Most of my week is:
Breakfast - McDonald's big breakfast w/hot cakes or CC's blueberry muffin
Lunch - whole poboy from somewhere or large hamburger
Dinner - whatever I feel like ordering

I live on protein bard for breakfast and a rotation of jimmy johns, subway and the like for lunch/dinner during the weeks. My goal is less than 10 bucks per meal. I splurge a little on the weekends for dates and stuff I am craving but I still never go near 30 for myself. I usually can eat out pretty healthy too most of the time which is a feat.

1-2 times a week but in bulk. I'll cook several chicken breasts/pork chops/fish filets at a time along with enough rice/potatoes for the week and throw in some sautéed veggies or salad. Much more cost effective for me than eating out, although not too diverse. That's in addition to sandwiches and typical breakfast food.
I've crunched the numbers before just for the hell of it and it comes out to like $3 per meal for dinner/lunch which are pretty interchangeable for me and then obviously less than that for breakfast.

I cook three times a week. G/F comes over and cooks 2 or 3 times a week. Eat out once a week (usually Saturday).
Eta: Usually just have cereal or eggs for breakfast. Office usually orders lunch in.

Twice a week.
I get the family size box dinners (or frozen entrees) and eat that for 3 days-3.5 days. Very boring but cost effective.
Edit: For breakfast, my job has a cafeteria. For $5 you can get Grits, egg, 2 strips of bacon, and an OJ.

It isnt. It is much cheaper to go to the grocery and cook at home. Once you have a good amount of base ingredients in the kitchen, you can just go buy a protein/meat and some veggies as a side.
Eating out, even though I really enjoy doing it, is a huge damn waste of money.

Not me, but I probably eat as much as that dude. When I don't take Adderall, I usually eat 5000 calories per day give or take 1000. When I do, it's usually more like 3500. Went from 5'11 175 before engineering to 5'11 185 after I started within two months, but I don't work out so it is understandable
I was working in the woods for a while and eating around 10k per day. It was actually hard to eat that much
