intelligence agencies make new groups to keep the war ongoing in Afghanistan.
How soon do you think they and other companies want that to end?
We defeated the Nazis and the Japanese COMBINED in four years. How anyone can still believe that we haven't been able to beat a bunch of thugs over a 14-year period (and counting) is beyond me.

Our military is neither structurally nor morally well-equipped to defeat an insurgent population. To "win" in that case we'd have to act with a kind of brutality that would hardly win friends and influence people abroad, and would be swiftly rejected at home. And what would be the point of such a victory anyway?
Sure, we could destroy IS with a ground army quickly, but the Sunni population would still be there, and the same underlying political and sectarian problems that gave rise to IS in the first place would likewise still be there, and probably worse.

IS hates Al Quaeda actually.
And neither =/= the Taliban. It's also not out of the realm of possibility that IS and AQ (or rather Nusra) join up at some point.

America will soon do something stupid which will result in them uniting.

I think you all are missing the message here. the Taliban is saying that Isis is nothing but a bunch of actors dressed up as terrorists.Isis is Mickey Mouse its fake that's what the Taliban is saying.

I didn't miss it. I have Palestinians on my fb feed that have claimed Isis was created by some western or Israeli intelligence outfit for
A while now.
Because they can't believe there are Muslims who would act in such a way.

Is there anyway we can get all 3 into an arena and sell tickets?

Arabs are an extremely paranoid people. But in part they have good reason to be--after all, AQ was basically created by the USA to combat the Soviets in Afghanistan.

The "we" you refer to during World War II was the combined might of most of the free world whose countries total resolve was focused on victory against conventional forces. So to answer you the victory came about only after around three percent of the total world population was killed and two atomic warheads detonated for good measure.
Russia sustained a loss of 30 percent of its total resources, Great Britain essentially bankrupted and the U.S. Spent roughly 300 billion 1940 dollars funding it.
So by comparison the 500 thousand a day Halliburton is pulling down is a drop in the bucket.

Crazies are going to be crazies.
I still say Nuke the area and in 50 years go in and set up shop for the oil. Been saying this for over 35 years when I was sent there.

How is it even possible that anyone would believe this?

I can say with some certainty that after 9/11 there was next to nothing we could have done over there that would have been "swiftly rejected at home."
And yet 14 years later (and still counting) we're still over there.
You would literally have to be borderline retarded to still buy this steaming pile of propaganda.

Then you really don't have a clue bout the middle east then. WWII was not a religiously motivated war that had roots back 1000 years. Plus that was an Allied force that you can't really comprehend. These aren't conventional armies in uniforms these are guerrilla insurgents that aren't lining up toe to toe with us. These are radical religiously motivated groups. Just the sectarian battle among Muslims will always undermine any complete victory as you keep alluding to. Even if we wipe out what we think is the existence of any of these groups given enough time they will sprout up again. These groups have no government we can overthrow and replace.

I still say Nuke the area and in 50 years go in and set up shop for the oil.
If the objective was to set up shop today for the oil, preserve the Petro Dollar, extract leaders who refused to bow to the Fascist international banking cabal, control trillions in untapped and billions in existing natural resources, and install leaders who will act as your puppet, you would be there for 14-plus years and do exactly what's currently being done in that region.
Posted on 4/21/15 at 9:02 am to TX Tiger
If you think whoever we install as a puppet has any control over the populous and army you are again wrong. Just look at Mosul and the Iraq army. Religious political parties run everything in those countries. There will never be a cohesive situation.

quote:I wouldn't say that. I have a clue that documents were drawn up a year prior to 9/11 detailing an invasion into the Middle East for the purpose of controlling its natural resources. A plan drawn up by some of the most influential people of the day, lamenting the fact that getting the American people behind such an "invasion" would be a very long process (and I quote) "absent some catastrophic catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor."
Then you really don't have a clue bout the middle east then.
I also have a clue that several leaders in the Middle East were beginning an Oil Bourse that threatened the Petro Dollar, and still others refused to join the Fascist international banking cabal. It's mere coincidence that those were the leaders extracted upon our invasion into the Middle East.
I also have a clue that trillions in untapped natural resources lie in Afghanistan, as do billions in poppies.
I also have a clue that the Taliban refused Unocal to build a pipeline the length of Afghanistan and upon our invasion Unocal lobbyist Hamid Karsai was "elected" President.
I also have a clue that Al Qaeda was created, trained and funded in the name of the United States. It wouldn't be much of a leap to conclude ISIS came about in the same way, especially considering Syria is a country we've attempted to gain access to but haven't been able to prior to its creation.
So dissect the various Muslim groups all you want, it comes down to this; our presence will remain over there until resources and leadership is under control (that's why it's taking so long, not because we can't defeat a bunch of thugs) and upon doing so, the next boogeyman in the next far away land will be introduced for us to hate and fear.

Iraq was firmly under control under Saddam Hussein.
Problems arose when Saddam and his regional buddies decided to go rogue. And that's what brought everything to a head (see my post above).

You can manufacture all the conspiracy theories you want. You have stated nothing factual only speculation and opinion. Military plan/strategies are created all the time, it means absolutely nothing. Guarantee there are plans to invade Canada out there as well. If you think we have installed pro american leadership in these countries that would benefit us in terms of access to natural resources and have fought a 14 year war to do so then we have not done a very good job of it. The region is more unstable than ever. I guess that strategy isn't working for us. We may have forgotten that no matter who we put in place that they will always be a problem controlling the people unless like Saddam you employ some "population control". And by that I mean torture and chemically attacking large populations. Yeah that's much better.
