If you are around this area find somewhere to hide out lightning/thunderstorm. Was a tornado watch north calcasieu... Prayers sent.

it just kind of formed. Dudes on KPLC said that a real bad storm was in cameron and we are getting the winds from it. Just saw a report that thousands are without power now. I hope my house still has it

We have had two really bad cells move thru here both with Tornado warnings issued along with them. Around 8:30 a cold front moved in. Wind picked up, lightning and thunder all over the place and it started pouring.

It passed on thru and around 10:45 another cell popped up and my phone went crazy with the second tornado warning of the night. Sounds like the wind and thunder have died down a good bit though, however it is raining like crazy outside right now.

Turns out it was a rare weather phenomenon called a heat burst. a few schools are out today because of no power and there were 20,000+ without power last night.

Westlake weather station picked up 75MPH gusts.

I heard the wind last night, but didn't realize how hard it was blowing. Got to the job site this morning and all the shite cans were blown over

Weird. LC got hit and DeRidder did too but Longville/Ragley area didn't get anything thankfully. Not even a drop.
