I'm not criticizing you. I despise ignorance. It's just that I find it hard to believe they didn't know what it was. In fact, with all of the antiques and collectible shows on tv I'm surprised you'd find anything of value underpriced. Those who would be stupid and underprice it don't seem like the people who'd have anything I'd want.

A lot of stuff I buy just because I think its cool. The cast iron horse head from New Orleans, i get home to realize it worth ~ $150. I paid $5 for it.
Iphones took the fun out of garage selling because I can look up the value of an item before I buy it. It makes it easier, but not as fun.

You give people way too much credit. Some people truly have no idea what they have. You should see the Reddit boards dedicated to flipping, thrift stores, etc. People that know what to look for find some really good stuff.
I just sold over $3K worth of vintage NES and SNES games on Amazon that I found. I didn't find it all at a garage sale, but rather at repo houses I manage that someone left as trash but the point still stands that people are are ignorant about what they have sometimes. One game alone was worth $350.
