I'm going to pick up the ashes of my dog that died last week. He was a great dog and fought to stay with us as long as he could. To keep the peace I had to have him creamated, and retrieve his ashes so that he may receive a "respectful" burial. The price includes a clay paw print, some doodad made out of clippings of his hair, and some sort of certificate or plaque. I love animals but these dog weirdos, and I think my wife has been converted to one, are ooc. When you talk to them on the phone they speak in reverent tones as if you'd lost a two-legged family member. The guy that came to pick him up had rosary beads. I loved that dog but this shite is crazy.

I did
much cheaper to dig a hole in your backyard

I did the same thing for my wife's chihuahua. It's not over-the-top expensive, and it's nice to keep the stone in the garden. The children appreciate it.
And this is coming from a guy who looks at dogs like tools.

Sounds lovely
Are you looking for prayers?

My brother thinks we should have our lab's ashes buried at a pet cemetery. My parents think it should be buried in their backyard. I am all for saying your dog is part of the family, but a pet cemetery is ridiculous.

To each his own I guess. I love my dog very much and treat him like a family member. But what you're describing seems to be a bit out there.

that's pretty dang common. i did the same thing for my wife and would expect anyone else to do the same for their wife/SO if they were upset about losing a family pet.

Hopefully its all a front by those folks.

You need to take the checkbook away from your wife.

How much did it cost?
based on weight, this was $250 for 155 lbs., I should have lied, and for another $50 they'll deliver the ashes

You have to bury your own.

totally concur, but it was cheaper than the alternative, if I would have "disposed" of the body in a sensible manner there would have been hell to pay
