The best of the best.

I have a Weber charcoal that I love, but recently got this for propane on Amazon for $350 for quick stuff that I don't have to wait to heat coals up for. It's pretty nice for the money. And yea I looked at Weber gas grills and they were $700+

The Weber Q series are 100% worth the money. Best grill I've ever owned.
Except for the fact that it's the size of my microwave.

Weber Grills worth double the price or no???
I was going to pretty much start this exact thread today. I was looking at grills over the weekend. The Webers seem very sturdy....WAY more than the old Char-grill I had that rusted out in the back of the cook box. I was looking at one at Home Depot and some guy that just walked in the store stopped to tell me how much he liked them. The cook box is pretty thick, very solid. I like that a lot.
I see several people mentioned they have the Genesis, anyone with experience with the Spirit series? They aren't as solid (plastic handles and a few other things), but they're a little cheaper and smaller. I don't need anything huge.
I was looking at the Spirit E310:
But I'm also considering a Genesis E310

Go with the Genesis.....while you may not "need" a bigger grill, it's better to have more and NOT need it than to need it and not have it.
And get the one with the side burner; I've used mine only 3 or 4 times in 10+ yrs but was valuable every time. I actually cooked for 12 during a hurricane with my Genesis when the power went out.

I'm on my 2nd Summit Series. My neighbor still uses my first. You can't beat Webers customer service. I had my first grill for well over 6 years when I noticed heavy rusting in the shell/bucket (or whatever it's called). Weber essentially replaced all but the stand of the grill without taking a dime. I've even called them to buy replacement burners with credit card in hand & they wouldn't take money for them.

I've had the genesis for almost 10 years now. Got stainless everything and it was worth it. One thing not mentioned yet is the customer service is very good with weber too. Had a burner with a small hole in it after lots of use, still under warranty so I called weber and they said to take a picture of the burner and the SN inside the door and email it to them. Two days later I had three new stainless burners at my door.

See, I had a side burner on my old grill and never used it once. I don't think I would use it this time either. But do you all have the stainless models? Or do some of you have the models with the enamel lids?
Also, anyone have experience with their natural gas grills? Our new house has a LNG hook-up on the patio. But I do want to be able to roll the grill out from under the roof overhang. The Weber website states that the LNG grills come with a 10ft hose, which should be more than enough to roll it where I will want to use it.

Yes I have the stainless model. While not the highest quality SS, it's still looks pretty good for being 10+ yrs old.
OK, the lid is enamel but the cabinet below is SS.
I suck at posting pics but click here & mine is black, not green:
Weber Genesis Silver C

For the current models, the only difference between the E and S models are the lids and doors...and $150

I've had a Spirit for around five years. The stainless version. Its been great, but pretty much all of the internals have rusted and need to be replaced. I'm torn on whether to fix this one or upgrade to a genesis. I have even tossed around the idea of just doing a built in since I have a gas line ran for it.
If I had to do it again, I would start with the Genesis. They seem to have better materials then the Spirit.

Good to know. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

I have a Charbroil Commercial, and I like it. Has held up very well. I didn't have Weber money at the time.
Let me say that you can buy replacement parts for every single item down to plastic nut shrouds for a Weber grill. Their serviceability is unmatched.

I got a $99 2 burner CharBroil grill for a housewarming present 3 years ago and it is still working beautifully. I need to upgrade to a 4 burner now that I am grilling for more than just myself, however, the point is if you keep care of your grills there is no point in overpaying

Yeah, I saw those and they looked pretty solid.

Good to know. I did have to replace a wheel on my old grill a few years back and that wasn't difficult through Char-Broil.

You can get a decent Weber for $100. You can beat the hell out of that thing until your kids are grilling.

I know the Spirits come with a comprehensive 10 year warranty.

I have also been searching for a new gas grill. This post pertains to gas grills only. Yes, I am aware of the BGE and other kamodo cookers, Weber kettle grills and Smokey Mountains, offset smokers, and ugly drum smokers, all of which are charcoal grills or smokers and not gas grills. I know because I already have a couple of those I use for smoking.
For gas grills Weber is the leading brand in a mid-range grill and you really can't go wrong with them. They last forever and their customer service is great. You can also buy more expensive offerings from companies like Holland, who puts out very nice grills. Most shoppers are comparing Weber gas grills to Char-Broil or Brinkmann because those are your choices on the display floor at places like Home Depot. Weber blows tham away but also costs a lot more. Char-Broils and Brinkmanns will rust out and fall apart in a few years where Webers can last for 10-15 years. So you pay more but the grill lasts longer.
The key is that those other grills are made in China where Webers are built in America. A good value grill that is North American made with quality construction at a cheaper price are grills from the Onward Manufacturing Corp, a Canadian company with manufacturing facilities in the U.S. The names they manufacture to look for are Broil-King and Huntington. I actually found a very nice Huntington Rebel series gas grill at Menard's for $350 this past weekend. American made in Huntington, Indiana, probably the best quality grill I have found for a low-end price.
Yes, I have spent too much time researching this. I would like to find more info on the Broil-King and Huntington brands and their durability. Searching online for info the thing you read over and over and over is don't bother with anything else just buy a Weber. Easy enough to say but I don't feel like spending $700-$800 on a gas grill, not that I couldn't, I just don't want to.

I just purchased a the $499 Weber Spirit grill on Sunday. It looked like a high-quality grill from my research. Now I hope yall don't shite on that purchase.
ETA: $500 was about the most I wanted to spend on a grill at this moment.
