But didn't Tyrion say in the books that at one time there were hundreds of Valyrian blades in Westeros (and thousands in the world) or something like that? I wonder where all those went.

I just remember the books mentioning that the Valyrian arakhs were far more rare than the swords. The only one we're told of is the one owned by Caggo.
