Need suggestions and possibly pictures of a good shrub/hedge to plant between my land and my neighbor's here in Louisiana (zone 8).

Would prefer evergreen, fast growing and low maintenance. Just want to plant a row and forget it.

I wish my ancestors in title had thought of that.

They grow like kelp. Mine are high maintenance.

Mine are all dying due to some fungus. I would stay away.

I suggest either elaeagnus or ligustrum (although avoid ligustrums if you have bad allergies).

I would do sweet olives, they will get as tall as you would like and smell amazing a couple times a year.

I like althea...not evergreen, but most all of the year, they have dense, dark green foliage and bloom constantly...

Commonly called the green giant. I've got several, and they are monsters.

Roaches, wasp, ants, and hornets all love Pampas Grass. Plus if a child tries to pull on the blades it cuts like a fillet knife.

Learned all of this the hard way. Never again.
