Too many guys are declaring for the NBA Draft

I don't get it. A lot of these guys are basically declaring for the D League, and they'll make less than Accounting and Finance majors with 3.5 gpas if they don't go abroad.
Are people not aware that the 2016 class is miserable, and they're likely to be picked in the 1st round and be guaranteed at least 3 million over 2 years?
So far, I believe Trimble, Damien James, and Justin Jackson are the only guys to verify they will stay in school.
Michael Frazier, Jarrell Martin, Jordan Mickey, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Chris McCulloch, Devantes Smith-Rivera, Rashad Vaughn, Brandon Ashley (likely), and now Woj says that in addition to Booker, Lyles, KAT, and WCS (all making smart choices), UK will be losing Dakari and the Harrison twins.
Makes no sense why someone would declare without a first round guarantee, and none of these guys are going to get a 1st round guarantee.

This isn't new.
As far as UK goes, Booker should stay and increase his stock (close call though, I just think he would be a bigger pick next year)and Johnson is an idiot for leaving and will be playing with Daniel Orton in a few years in Madagascar. I don't think the Harrisons have a great NBA future, but they would be making a mistake to stay further. Their stocks aren't going to get higher.
The others are no brainers.

Mickey wont get drafted and good chance martin goes second round. Id bet martin goes first round if you put a gun to my head but still a good chance he doesnt.

Unless he's announced and I missed it, I don't know that Booker goes. I'd be surprised if Dakari did too.

Both should come back and be the premier options at their position.

When you're that high level of a recruit, you just don't see yourself as someone who needs to play anymore that 2 years of college basketball. That may not be wise, but that's the mindset these guys have. Playing 3-4 years of CBB in their minds means that you're a bad player.
Many of the guys you listed made the decision to go pro well before the end of this season. They were entering the draft, stats and actual play this season be damned

What is the general consensus on when you should leave/stay? Obviously it's not so cut and dry but top 20 pick = leave? Lottery only? I wouldn't wanna frick around with any risk of falling to the second round

Dakari has a some work to do, but Booker definitely could be.
I also have the feeling that the Harrison twins might not both declare.

Should all come back if they were smart.

Don't even think he's aiming for the NBA, probably going overseas.

Johnson is a plug, but he's not getting drafted this year and can only help himself if he proves to be more serviceable with more minutes. Booker is gonna be a good one, but he should come back simply so he can be the man and get Top 15 money next year. He's borderline 2nd round if he comes out this year.

He was booted from the Filipino league for talking shite about pacquaio.

I dont want to sound like an a-hole. Because i do appreciate very much that mickey came lsu. But he simply cant play the 3 in the nba. And does not have the size to play the 4. I wouldnt draft him. He could go at the end but i just dont see it.

You're not being an ahole at all..this is pretty much true.

Woj has big time sources, particularly when it comes to CAA, and he says all 7 are gone. This is mind-boggling to me, especially for Dakari.
This is the year where I've seen the most bad decisions in a while. 50 guys think they are first rounders. In reality about 22 college players will be picked in the first round, and the rest are going to be scraping for paychecks in the D League or living in isolation in a foreign country where they aren't nearly as big a deal as a back-up central midfielder and don't speak the language.
These are the guys who should go pro for sure. Everyone else should stay unless they are in a Juan Dixon/Thomas Robinson-type financial situation.
Jahlil Okafor
Justise Winslow
Devin Booker
Karl Towns
Willie Cauley-Stein
Devin Booker
Trey Lyles
Stanley Johnson
Kevon Looney
Kelly Oubre (even though he sucks, he seems to have a good projection)
DeAngelo Russell
Montrezl Harrell
Terry Rozier
Myles Turner
Cliff Alexander (assuming he isn't eligible, it's a no brainer)
Sam Dekker
Emmanuel Mudiay
Bobby Portis
Cameron Payne
And I can understand Buddy Hield, Caris Lavert, Jakob Poeltl, and Kris Dunn. That's really about it.
What's the hurry to play for Fort Wayne Mad Ants?

If CBB adopted the 24 sec clock then a lot of this would get cleaned up. If you struggle with pace and style at 24 sec in CBB it won't get better in the league. The thinking is CBB is not getting them ready for the league and they are probably right. But if they aren't nba players anyway it won't matter If CBB isn't getting them ready. Nothing will get them ready, they just aren't good enough
These guys see the NBA and think of their potential. Most of the world sees them in the NBA and sees their limitations

Louisville will suck next year, so I can see him leaving when he is late first/early 2nd projection.
Booker is from a wealthy background so he should consider staying. However, I understand the allure of being a top 15 pick, and that's his current projection. I respect his decision if he goes early.
