Anthony Jennings 2014 Regular Season Stats In "Full Games" (i.e. not NMST, AUB)
In Wins
08/30/14 - 169.89 QBR 09/21 42.9% 239 yards 2 TD 0 INT
09/06/14 - 251.48 QBR 07/13 53.8% 188 yards 3 TD 0 INT
09/13/14 - 114.86 QBR 11/18 61.1% 139 yards 0 TD 1 INT
10/11/14 - 107.33 QBR 10/21 47.6% 110 yards 1 TD 0 INT
10/18/14 - 145.57 QBR 07/14 50.0% 120 yards 1 TD 0 INT
10/25/14 - 120.18 QBR 08/16 50.0% 142 yards 1 TD 2 INT
11/27/14 - 106.13 QBR 12/21 57.1% 107 yards 1 TD 1 INT

In Losses
09/20/14 - 100.72 QBR 13/26 50.0% 157 yards 0 TD 0 INT
11/08/14 - 60.32 QBR 08/26 30.8% 76 yards 1 TD 1 INT
11/15/14 - 87.77 QBR 12/22 54.5% 87 yards 0 TD 0 INT

In 7 wins, 64/121 52.9% 945 yards 7.8 ypa 9 TD 4 INT
In 3 losses, 33/74 44.6% 320 yards 4.3 ypa 1 TD 1 INT

To act like we're doomed if a 2006 Russell or 2013 Mett doesn't step out onto the field is asinine

Nothing is lost on you. In 7 games his numbers sucked and we won. We just need him (or Harris) to not be as completely abysmal as in our 3 losses.

10 TD, 5 int and ~49 percent completion rate is piss poor.

Yea, only 2 games above 55% completion isn't good.

I don't care that we can win with a sucky quaterback as much as the lack of ability to find a competent QB

If we can get 200 total yards, 57% of passes completed, and minimal turnovers out of the QB position, our running game and defense will get us where we want to go.

2014-2016 reminds me a lot of 2005-2007 with the way the roster stacks up.

You make a decent point I guess. We really don't need them to be spectacular. But if you think
quote:

10/11/14 - 107.33 QBR 10/21 47.6% 110 yards 1 TD 0 INT

Or
quote:

10/18/14 - 145.57 QBR 07/14 50.0% 120 yards 1 TD 0 INT

Will consistently cut it, I'm not sure what to say.

Each season is an entity unto itself. Nothing is static and variables are constantly moving. Did u account for the possibility of other teams improving ? I think the D will be solid but who knows? You still might need to out score a team or two.

You don't think this would be a vast improvement over 49 percent and under 100 ypg?

The only difference in the 3 losses and the 7 wins is like 8% compeltion. That's it. Not a big difference.

And in some of those wins, our QB play was horrible and we could have lost the game. Only reason we didn't is becasue of the defense and rushing attack. And sometimes the difference between a win and a loss is a lucky break or the ball bouncing the right way.

We were 8-5 last year and we could have easily been 6-7. And that's with the #1 D and #4 rushing attack in the SEC.

We need vast improwent at the QB play and everyone knows it. If we can't have a balanced offense with a QB that can complete 60% of his passes, we will go 8-5 again and looking at our talent at every position but QB, that's unacceptable.

Well we certainly won't be going to Atlanta if our QB gives us these numbers….
quote:

In 3 losses, 33/74 44.6% 320 yards 4.3 ypa 1 TD 1 INT

But to act like we're doomed if a 2006 Russell or 2013 Mett doesn't step out onto the field is asinine. With a modest improvement, which should be expected from Jennings as a rising junior and/or Harris given the raw talent.. and from the receivers also progressing from freshmen to sophomores…

I think our passing game will do just enough to make us dangerous in every game we play. Schedule is light with a rebuilding Auburn and MSST early in the season, drawing USCe and Florida from the East… and no real OOC threats.

12-0 is a real possibility. 11-1 is likely.

The fact that this would be such a huge improvement should tell you just how bad things were last year.

There is an old saying that goes "figures lie and liars figure..." While I am not calling you a liar I am contesting your use of figures to defend what was one of the most awful offenses in the CFB last year. The coaches and QB's alike all say that they have to be much better this year.

I get what you're saying. But the supposition that the stats you offer would be "modest" improvement is seriously flawed. You're talking about nearly a 20 percent improvement in completion percentage and over 100 percent improvement YPG.

That is SUBSTANTIAL improvement. If your argument is that we need objectively marginal QB play to be competitive, I agree. But objectively marginal is leaps and bounds ahead of the abortion of a season from the QB spot we had last year.
