Pics of Girlfriend and dog are required here for proper response.

Solid contribution. Thread is 3 pages long and neither of those innovative points have been posted yet.

A wiener dog. And it's not that she is being lazy about the crate training. She just doesn't think it's fair for him to be locked up all day while we are at work.

No! This works out great. Dogs are meant to live outside.

So she is not ok with him being in a crate during the day(something that most other people do with their dogs and their dogs are ok)....but is ok with making a small dog into an all outside dog?

Some small dog breeds are not meant to be outside only dogs. Their small bodies may be more sensitive to extreme temps than a larger dog.

So she thinks crates are cruel...but being stuck outside all day in the heat is fine?

I find it hard to believe an animal is not capable of living outside. Wouldn't a dog that is not "built" to live outside become extinct?

That's why they have shelter dogs. They need shelter.

This x 1000.

I have nothing against dogs at all, but many "dog owners" should not have dogs. They don't know how to train a dog, don't make an effort to train their pet, leave them out in sub freezing weather at night, leave them out all night barking at the wind or nothing, etc. I could go on for a while on this.

It amazes me how many just love their pets but do absolutely nothing to take care of them, or have no idea how to properly care for them.

I once saw a husky in a shelter. Are you saying a husky can't handle the elements of outdoors and needs shelter?

Not for breeds that were developed by humans as companion dogs. You don't see pugs in the wild....but they aren't extinct because there is a demand for them from people that are willing to keep them inside.

You serious?

You took the time to type all that just to ask if you should feel bad bc your girlfriend willingly gave her own dog to her parents?

People are such attention seeking pussies these days
