And you still have no authority or input over Pelicans personnel decisions.

I know. I just don't undertstand why you still defend the guy?

I don't understand how the team can make a decision on the coach, who has one year left on his contract, before they make a decision on the GM, who's contract runs out at the end of the season (team has an option for one more season). How would that work? I could understand if they hired a GM and then the new GM went and found somebody he really wanted. But why would you let Dell fire Williams now?

Why would they do vice versa again? Hire a GM and stick him with Monty? Dell needs to pick his own guy (I have a feeling we'd be happy with a Dell coaching hire) or fire them both and let the next GM bring in his coach.

Demps doesn't have the authority to fire Monty. He has to go through Loomis and the guys Benson trusts (Benson isn't making the call either, trusts his people and doesn't know shite about the NBA). Supposedly there is some in the FO ready to fire Monty after the season and others that are more hesitant, the question is who is for getting rid of Monty.

The team has to make a decision on Demps first. If they pick up the one year option or give him an extension, then I'd look for the team to make a move at head coach. But as of now, Demps is kind of a lame duck. You can't have him fire Williams now and give a new coach a 3-5 year deal. That would hamstring a new GM, if they decide to move away from Demps. Plus, it doesn't make financial sense. If he fires Williams now, they would still owe Williams 2.75M for next season (which is actually pretty cheap as far as coaches go). Then they would have to sign a new coach and the new contract is going to be much more.
I'd be fine if they fired both or replaced the GM and ride with Williams for another season (till the contract runs out). That would give the new GM time to get a better feel and find the best fit for the team. Honestly, I think that is the way it goes down. Williams hasn't embarrassed the organization or anything. He's just not a very good game situation coach. Most young coaches aren't...

Losses to the streaking (losing) knicks, philly, magic weren't embarrassing?

It's his 5th year as a head coach. I don't care how young you are, if you played the game at a professional level for a number of years and have coached at the professional level for a number of years, game management should not be an issue.

No, every team has bad losses. Take off your hateblinders and look around the league.

Every Non-Playoff team has bad losses, and if they do have a bad loss they usally counter it with a 5+ win streak

Is this a verified fact or a statement that you made up to fit your narrative?

Than why are we in 10th place if everybody has bad losses and according to you we have a good coach.

Oh, look at you trying on daddy's big man boots.

For starters, because we have played the vast majority of the season with less available talent than the teams ahead of us.

Your arse is going to get pretty gnarly if you keep shoving your fist in to pull out these statements. Do find any quote where I said Monty is a good head coach. You can't, though, because I have never said that. Nothing has proven that Monty, after taking a team riddled with injuries to the brink of the playoffs in one of the most loaded conferences in NBA history, is a bad coach, though.

Monty doesn't put the ball in AD's hands to close out games. That is reason enough for him to be fired. Also, his rotations suck. Agree that the injuries have severely limited him, but I have seen enough.

Yes every team has bad loses, however only 10 teams have a worse record than us against under .500 teams.

Durant, Tony Parker was out for a while, Rondo, Parsons, I think Tyson for a while, Leonard, Maybe Robin Lopez ( depending if you think he is good) Dwight Howard, Terrance Jones
We have Jrue out and Anderson out. I am not a fan of Anderson and think his injury actually helped us be more athletic on defense and more ball movement on offense. This team misses Jrue's defense and ball handling alot.
AD has been out yes, but we did beat the Clippers and Raptors without AD.

The injuries have severely impacted his rotations.

I'd say he puts it in Tyreke's hands too often. That said, AD was too quick to delegate early in the year. There have also been talks about how Monty is holding AD back a bit to keep his progression steady. I certainly can't argue with AD's growth.

So, a third of the league. How many teams have a better record against above .500 teams, playoff teams, and/or Southwest Division teams?

Durant was out for a while

Also, would it kill Monty to get T'ed up once in a while when the team is dragging arse? Very frustrating.

So my argument was to resolve your statement that " all teams have bad losses. "
And yes all teams have bad loses, but the Pelicans are with the bottom third in " bad losses".

Yes you are correct the season is not yet done and if our losing streak continues, who knows what are record against play off teams will be. As of now we are in 8th place in the West vs above .500 teams. YAY we are going to the playoffs!!!
