So I pull up in my driveway and I have obviously had a hose bust as it was whistling, fluid pouring onto my driveway, smoke billowing from under the hood, and my temperature gauge on hot as frick.

I have diagnosed it as an overheating issue. The car whisperer, I know. Didn't have time to mess with it further as I had to get to work.

My question is what now? Should I definitely have it towed somewhere? I know you can't drive on a hot engine as it will frick it up beyond repair. How much am I looking at here?

$25 if you diy

If it's a bust hose. But it sounds like you can't make that diagnosis.
It could be a cracked radiator, a bad waterpump.. etc. a couple of other things that could cause fluid and steam to escape, even a bad radiator cap.

Yes, you cannot drive a car that is currently overheated, but if you turn the heater on full blast, you could probably keep the car cool enough to drive it, unless you have a head issue.

Could be a number of different things... something major like a leak or something minor like a fuse.

I had a car once and the fan would randomly stop running. I found out that it kept blowing the fuse. After doing some checking under the hood I found that the car had once had an alarm system and someone took everything out. They cut all the wires but left them connected to the battery. The wires would hit metal, short out, blow the fuse for the fan, and the car would overheat.

Things like the year, make, model, engine, etc would be supremely helpful.

Well sounds like your hose busted so go get a new one. Problem solved. Hopefully your car had sensors that shut it down to overheating. Also after you replace the hose top off with antifreeze.

Eta: if it isn't just the bad hose it is what Im4LSU said.

Did you check your headlight fluid? It might be low.
