Could we somehow still have sports? Would you still be an LSU fan? LINK

I don't see it happening
I doubt the SEC/NCAA would let that happen

Just a hypothetical question. We don't all lose our imagination as we grow older.

Well TAF is a private entity isn't it? We could definitely financially support a sports program, as TAF is self sufficient, but we couldn't participate in the NCAA I suppose. Maybe pay other schools to scrimmage of something.

Exactly. You must have classes to produce student athletes. Unfortunately, no school = no football.

No way that happens. But that would be devastating for our athletics.

I assume, on the positive side, we would be saved from moronic posts like this for a year

No it would get worse. You don't want to see the rant if this happened.

SMU would become LSU's sister university.

I love our priorities here.
"Hey, the state's flagship university will not have classes for a year."
"Whatever. Will we still have football?"
frickin' rantards, man.
To Hell with football. I would be depressed that my university is shut down.

No, you would not have sports
All athletes would be released from their scholarships, and immediately eligible for transfer

The university is in real trouble if half of these artitles are true. Schools can not keep their doors open without state funding. Period.

leave it to an Aggie to have a realistic grasp on the current budget environment of LSU.

I believe it would be a good thing
