I now want to buy a poster. Never been to the festival, but I may go now to show support.
NAACP is such a worthless modern day shakedown organization.

Siekkinen said he apologies for any misunderstanding resulting from his comments, adding, however, that he stands by his artwork.

My thought too on the matter. Which is why more and more you see posters and graphics showing 3 different ethnic groups, 2/3 of the people are women, and sometimes at least 1 person is physically handicapped.
I understand the need for diversity in American culture. However, it's sad that we have become so hyper PC that we must constantly depict groups of images in ratios that make absolutely no sense in most parts of the county. It has nothing to do with socio-economics, but rather the proportions of these communities simply have a large majority.
So, perhaps this artist wanted to feature the AA community in his artwork? Why is that racist? Do people jump to the conclusion that depicting black kids in any sort of rural or farm setting automatically paints a picture of plantation life and slavery?

I have a slight glimmer of hope reading WWL'S Facebook comments on it. There have been several black people calling out the NAACP or at least saying the painting wasn't racist and should have remained.

That's just lawlessness on the part of someone who happens to be black.
We're talking about an artist that used caricatures of black children to advertise their event and offended like 8 people once those people were told to be offended.
One is mere crime, one is a social injustice.

Why does the NAACP see the color of the people in the poster? I don't see color because that's what they've told me to do. Clearly they are racist.
Jarvis from the Times Pic says the problem really lies in that the artist is white.

NAACP axe festival poster artist to apologize

Serious question, do black people even take the NAACP seriously anymore?

And if he drew white children on that poster he'd been blasted as a KKK racist as well. Or mexicans, or actual Africans.
These PC liberal cocksuckers get their panties in a wad over anything these days.

I spoke too soon. Lots of white privilege talk towards the bottom section of the Facebook comments. One dude even said that white people were stealing his heritage and to get their own. Then he called the festival itself racist.

Black people are like Muslims, cant draw a picture on Mohammed, cant draw a picture of black people.

Had a white friend who teaches post on his fb he cant believe how the could put something out so racist...when asked what was racist about it he couldnt come up with answer and just said we should know better in todays society and racial tensioN
if we could talk about race instead of being labeled racist for noticing color in any sense then maybe people wouldnt hide their views and let shite brew

Putting black people on it that weren't blacked out like the night wouldn't have incited this much less white kids. It's not the fact that there is black people. It you don't understand it then you need to google pickaninny and get schooled.

I still don't understand how it's offensive.
Posted on 3/25/15 at 12:40 pm to meauxjeaux2
Seriously, the Facebook comments are funny but sad as hell. At least I do see a few black people agreeing with the artist.

I don't think I've ever agreed with any of his editorials. He's as racist as they come.
