If you mean just the flame going out, it's an air issue. Too much gas too little air.

We have an older homemade pipe burner that is a similar pain in the rear to run.

No real need to come back to a boil super super fast, just depends on how you like to cook em. Some people biol a bit then cut heat. Some people cut heat at the first bit of boil.

Some people boil for too long and then add ice to compensate lol

All in how you like doing it.

Edit... If you are icing the tank that much, slow it down. Not a race. We typically see the tank iced to the fill line and watch it drop with a 20Psi reg maxxed out.

I don't see the earplugs you're going to need.

I bought that exact setup last weekend. The connector between the regulator and bottle sucks. I had to drill the hole out and put a bigger regulator on it. Rolled that pot in 7 minutes with a 60# regulator on it.

ETA: that burner wasn't near as loud as I thought it would be. It was actually quieter than my multi jet burner.

I have the same set up x3 (except only 1 rocket pot the other 2 are bayou classic)- great burners. Go to a store in your area that sells propane/natural gas equipment - throw the hose assembly away, buy a flexible hose and add a high pressure regulator, buy your self a 30-40lb bottle.

Yep put one of those on the back of the bbq pit trailer and ran my own hose and set it up with 2 regulators, one 10 psi for beans and stuff, and one 30 psi for boiling

I'm not knocking it, but what am I missing?

I got my 60# regulator from Ace on hwy 621. They also have the hose/regulator combo but I just changed out the regulator. They are in a plain white box so you have to look for it because you wouldn't know it was in there otherwise

The regulator and braided line that comes with the burner is junk, this is what I use, I buy a 5ft hose not 15ft:

It's a bottle issue. When it cuts out, it's because the flow stopped. You have to bring the regulator back down and then you can just go relight it.

Why so much pressure??? Nothing exceeds like excess.

I usually cook 300lbs, between 2 pots - bringing pots to a boil quickly is important.

Swanny, just upgraded...

how many propane tanks do you think I will need for 3 sacks (90-100 lbs)?

I posted about one a few weeks ago. I thought it was a gimmick and would have never bought one but was given one so I tried it. It makes a HUGE difference in boiling times. I am sold on them, they aren't the fancy 4-1,000 dollar units some were posting last week but for just a pot I like it a LOT.
