I'm serious. When was the last time you saw a pro player (or two) guarding someone at halfcourt?

It is not like the pressure of one game to advance should affect 18-20 year old players.

That's cause pressing in the NBA is dumb.

There were more fouls than field goals made. UVA shot 28% and 1-14 from 3. That is not good basketball

So you let them inbound the ball, possibly pass it once and the defense just takes up space. I get it. The NBA is all about offense....until the playoffs.

College basketbaloffense sucks, and I love how they always claim it is defense that causes it to make the product seem better.

The NBA is such a better basketball product.

30 sec shot clock

The NCAA will have a 30 second shot clock next year. It's definitely happening. And scores will go up a bit.

However, if you want to make the college game more open, having a defensive 3-second violation would do that. But it would also kill off the chances of the little guys to compete with the big schools, so it's not worth it.

Yeah nobody fricking thinks that COLLEGE basketball is better than PROFESSIONAL basketball.

You can like both! I know that's a wild thought, but I promise you can!

Defense in college basketball sometimes appears more "suffocating" because the college players are unskilled.

shite like full court pressing or constant doubling or tripling of big men don't work in the NBA where teams have multiple skilled ballhandlers that can break the press with ease and big men adept at passing out to open shooters.

Don't even get more started on how terrible college players are at attacking zone defenses.

This problem is due to practice limits. Working on your own offense/defense/transition game while refining individual skills takes up most of the allotted time, so it's hard to get the work in needed to deal with the variety of zones college teams will see.

No. You don't get it. NBA ball handling and shooting is too good to press. They'll break it, find an open man, and make you pay.

NBA defense is much better than NCAA defense.

+1 I used to love CBB, but over the years I've completely lost interest in it. I have yet to watch a minute of march madness this year.

You have to be blind to not see that college kids play waaay better defense than pro players. More often than not pro players don't even leave their feet to try and block a shot or get a defensive rebound

So much wrong, and likely racist, in this statement.

The Vandy-SDSU game fricking blew up in the second half, and it doesn't happen without the shot clock push. The Jackrabbits like to run-and-gun, and more teams like that will emerge with less of a shot clock.

Also, the 40 Minutes of Hell approach will see more use with less of a shot clock. Should be fun.
