Wichita and Kansas will play Sunday. Anyone else remember the ending to their game. The guy in the photo makes the shot to give WSU a 66-65 lead with :02 left. Kansas calls time and sets up a great play.Kansas' Booty Neal starts to run the baseline as if he's throwing a downcourt pass. But Darnell Valentine was stay close and still. Wichita player went for the fake and ran right over Valentine for what should have been FT's but the refs were not looking and were running down court. KU had to call another time out and then threw it away and Wichita won.

I was a little kid at the time, the only game I remember from that tourney was my father having the people at Showbiz Pizza(Chucky Cheese now) put the LSU v Wichita St. game on TV during a birthday party.

I was there. I bought 25 center court, row 10 seats for me and my fraternity brothers. I bought them over the phone from Wichita State directly, since i knew their fans wouldn't travel to NO for the game. Best basketball crowd ever in the Dome. It was rocking.

We were at the game. If I remember WSU played us close and we pulled out a narrow win. 94-87 or something like that.
I think we beat Arkansas earlier to advance to the final.

I was 11 and went to the Wichita St game with my parents. From what I remember the upper deck was general admission, I remember my dad running ahead to get seats. When we got there he was laying down in four seats on the first row of the upper deck!! Good job Dad

I was there! Total blast. Rudy was my favorite player. I hated it when he split that finger open.

The ex and I were there with Joe, from The Library, and his wife. My favorite thing about those two LSU games was Ethan Martin outplaying the two highly touted guards from Arkansas and Wichita State. We had a blast in the Quarter afterward. I still have my ticket stubs in a Pat O'Brien glass.

Was there to see Dale Brown jumping across the court after the game as we were headed to Philly. I got to go to Philly too.

I was there and the atmosphere was electric since it waa payback time for Arky as they had beaten us earlier in the year at the Great Alaskan Shootout. Remember talking to some Wichita State fans earlier and their main goal was to beat Kansas. Great weekend of Basketball.

I was there. Wichita St. got their chance and took advantage of it.

Kids who missed out on Dale's first run missed something special. Scales and that bunch were awesome. Were we the favorites in Vegas heading into the final four in 81.

LSU was legit!

Yes I was there, and I also remember the pure arse whooping LSU gave Arkansas. I remember everyone chanting showtime showtime in the second half.

We were waiting to buy sideline seats from the losers of the first game. And picking up discarded ticket stubs.

I was there. I was also at the Regional Final in Atlanta when we beat Kentucky to go the FF in '86 and Texas in '05.

I'm not undefeated in Elite Eight games, though. I was in Cincy in '87 when we lost to Indiana.
