Ball and Chain - Social Distortion
Adelaide - Anberlin
Yesterdays - Switchfoot
I've been busy with other things lately, so I've only been playing simple, learn in one sitting type songs.

"Fat Old Sun"--Pink Floyd
"One Hundred Years From Now"--Gram Parsons
"The Murder of Mary Fawden"--an 18th Century English broadsheet; I created my own music since I have no idea how the original sounded.

Haven't tried to learn a song in years, now I pick up the guitar and try to write songs, borrow bits and pieces and transpose licks and stuff into different keys.
Seems to me, that when I can come up with an epic bridge or a little interesting change, it can inspire me to come up with some great lyrics.
The guitar is just a tool anymore, but it's the best tool ever.

I've got my kids in lessons (one drum and one guitar), so I've started screwing around on the guitar for the first time. I've been playing for a couple of months now. So far, I've learned passable versions of:
Grateful Dead: Cold Rain and Snow (which has about the only actual licks on it that I can play).
Wilco: Misunderstood (so easy and so fun).
Vampire Weekend: Unbelievers
