Faith No More: most underrated band

I had a guy tell me today that they were a one hit wonder. That Epic was the only decent song that they ever put out. I proceeded to play a few tracks off Angel Dust, Album of the Year and King For A Day. Dude was blown away. For anybody who never really delved into their catalog, I highly recommend it. Mike Patton (although a freak of nature) is a fricking genius. What say you?

Epic was their only mainstream hit, certainly not their best song though. It wasn't even the best song on that album. They were always fairly popular in the underground scene. I'm looking forward to their new album.

I think I remember reading that they were really huge in South America, maybe Argentina or something. Anyway I'm a pretty big fan of Mike Patton, and I think anything he does is at least worth a listen. I'm probably more of a Mr. Bungle fan than Faith No More though.

I liked Mr Bungle more. Was just weirder.

People forget "Falling to Pieces" was a mainstream hit too.

I never heard it on the radio. I only saw the video a few times and it was usually late at night. If it was a hit, it wasn't nearly as big as Epic.

Last cup of sorrow had moderate success as well

"From Out of Nowhere" was on one of the Madden video games.

Mike Patton has a cult following

They would've been more successful if the guitarist didn't have that bald spot.

Ashes to Ashes is my favorite.

The Real Thing was one of my favorite albums to play drums to growing up.

Not to get off topic here, but if you're talking underrated I'm going with Blind Melon
