Would love to see Bony and Jovetic play somewhere else.

meh that was a one time thing this summer
Highly unlikely you see them or Liverpool spending that much in one transfer window again for a long time.

That can be fixed, juventus will take kolarov off your hands

And one of them was a lateral move at best.

If they lose today they obviously aren't getting a return on their investment.
Barca has turned into their bugaboo like Chelsea used to be for PSG. If they win today then draw Porto/Monaco and get into the Semis then I think you'd have to say they are making progress.

Getting to the last 8 after all that money is 7 years isn't progress
Hell chelsea was able to do it the year after the take over and made the final in 2008

Well it's farther than they have made it so by definition yeah, it is progress.

No return on their investments is not progress
Win the league then shite the bed the next year then fire manager

There is no divine right to win the champions league and going out to Barca isn't exactly a disgrace.
They have underperformed a bit given their investment, no arguments there, but these things take time when you're trying to change the mentality of a club that used to be a marginal English top flight side. They don't turn into European Champions overnight, I don't care how much money you spend.
I think it's fair to question the wisdom of some of their moves but they have also done a lot to build up their infrastructure between their amazing new training facilities and satellite clubs.

All to loop hole FFP
I think the investment in the academy is amazing but time to call a spade a spade those kids stand no chance making the first team and will end up at other clubs.

Well if that's how they want to run their club that's their prerogative.
You're not expecting me to bash a club for loopholing FFP, are you?

I believe there will be some big shake ups there this summer... If for no other reason, their core line up is old.. they need some newer, young blood IMO.. that will probably mean selling some of their proven "stars"...
Except for Silva and Aguero, I'd listen to offers for any other player..

I'd really like to see Kolarov, Zabaleta, Toure, Nasri, Dzeko, Jesus Navas and maybe Kompany leave if they could grab another above average CB.
Like you said, Silva, Aguero and personally I think Hart after the way he's played this year are the only ones that should be safe.

I agree
It's funny bc Pel is saying he need a cracking player to improve the team while Manchini is saying you are under performing with the squad I handed over to you.
They really won't get much selling guys off pretty much every player will be at a loss.

They're simply fricking up the world market beyond belief.
I freaking hate City and their dumbass owners. Really a shame they've even been able to win the league.
I'd happily take some of their "scraps" this summer after they flip out and do a fire sale and rebuild all over again.

You misunderstood me.
I mean in general , people like to complain about United just goes and buys their players. I know it was an odd year in spending, but we still have academy players making their way in... hopefully they stick...

Like STLHog said they jacked up the English market big time.
I said this before but basically they took the transfer strategy of United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc of buying one or two big players a year and used that as their entire transfer policy.
SAF strategy was I want that player and ill get him breaking the transfer record a couple times for example Rio but after that buy he was done. So we would basically spend 35 million a summer.
