Looking at those numbers, Harden's, James', Westbrook's turnover rates are pretty poor. And Harden's FG% seems abysmally low for a guy who likes to get to the basket and take high %age layups. I'm starting to wonder why we're even talking about some of these guys.

All i know is that the rockets lost their last 3 games to the pels. Rockets are the pels bitch. Fact.

Mmm good question. Of all of those stats the one with the most predictive value is win shares. 4 of the last 5 MVPs lead the league in win shares.

Great. PER does not lead to wins. Win shares does. So that settles that IMO.

Bro the Rockets beat the Spurs something like 7 of 8 but you don't hear us calling the Spurs our bitch. How about a little respect for teams that are more successful than yours?

I've been busy today working, so I only really read the long climax at the end of the Simmons article about Davis. Did he have anything to say about Dwight Howard?

Ok ok in that case I appreciate it. I end up having to post a for the same reason more times than i'd really like to.

Kevin Garnett led the NBA in win shares in 04-05, and they won 44 games. They didnt even make the playoffs.

F yes. Love that our resident troll is so butt hurt. "Best player in the NBA based on what metric....yada yada yada..."
If AD played for Houston we would NEVER hear the end of his greatness. Unfortunately for PT's troll, AD plays for the Pels. That is so satisfying.

sorry can't agree with that post at all, normally you do a good job but that post is rubbish.

If AD played for HOU I would rank him accordingly just like I do all players. Throughout the entirety of the thread no one could give me a reason why AD was the games #1 player other than PER. PER is a nice metric but it's not the best that's something we can all agree on.
Posted on 3/17/15 at 9:31 pm to Boomshockalocka
PER is ok but I feel it's a bit slanted towards bigs tbh.

Need to read the article and stop trolling alert!!!
The column is about tradeable assets, not about the best player in the league. AD is #1 because of his age and his contract. He is legitimately a top 5 player by any ranking or metric, with the advantage lying in his projected future length of career and contract leverage to his current team.

Pels are .500 against the east. A .500 team in the East would barely be in the playoffs right now(by a couple games)
Seriously? You think that's logically sound? Pathetic. Law of averages would see our record increase to the expected over a large sample size. What a dumbass comment.
Cooincidently, a big part of our poor record against the East is AD missing a disproportionate amount of those games.

PER is not biased by the amount of games a person plays. We are looking at who the best basketball player is, not who played the most games. Is Brandan Knight now better than Paul George since he played more games?
Your argument is valid for MVP. We aren't talking about who the 2015 MVP is. We are talking about who is the best player in basketball. It is completely irrelevant that Westbrook and Lebron missed a chunk of games, yet Win Shares reflects that. Hence, a bias.
Also, I think you are confused about how the stat is calculated. They don't literally lead to win shares. The estimated wins added is a comparable stat using PER and minutes played. AD leads the league in that with Harden close behind despite having played in many more games.
