Anyone remember the sportscenter interview where Dale brown and bobby knight tell how they ended their fued
Why did Knight and Dale not like each other? Was it just that Knight only liked other coaches that bowed down to him?

I remember when that arse wipe got elected to the state legislature and then walked into Murphy's one night and of course a lot of the other frat boys were cheering for him, I dumped my beer on him accidentally ...on purpose. The guy was an attention hound more than anything else. A few years later I was more than happy to pull the lever for EWE.

Greatest LSU story ever... Finally being told. They have to add the controversial to get morons commenting I.e, free advertising. Plus it's appropriate to highlight racism anywhere it can be manufactured. Id bet you 1000 bucks you watch it but obviously it's worth 1000 bucks to not watch it !!!

I've got a story that happened in early '74 starting the disagreement between Dale and Bobby. It began during Dale's search for an assistant coach.

Treen and Foster were both democrats initially. They switched sides before becoming governor. Pinchback is the only one I can think of who was never a democrat.

The Democratic Party was completely different in that era. Instead of the bed wetting extremism of both modern parties, there were centrists. Louisiana had J. Bennett Johnston and John Breaux in the Senate for years. David Duke made a run at JBJ in 1990, but failed thankfully.
Looking forward to seeing the Brown/Shaq documentary.

CBS did a piece called "A Season in Shaq's House" back in 1992. During that piece, Shaq claimed that he had been told that David Duke told a group of supporters at a rally that "Shaquille O'Neal would vote for me." Shaq was very disturbed by this and called Kent Lowe and Coach Brow to set the record straight.
That fall of '91 was a very intense time in LA and in politics. Nothing made more headlines than Edwards vs. Duke. The players had to endure all of that -- feeling that they represented a state that had a crook vs. a racist as the only choice for governor. That election ended in November that year, but it was the only thing in Louisiana that outweighed Shaq, himself.
I look forward to this documentary...the Duke (the university) sellout and camp out in the rain; the Shaq vs. Oliver Miller non-foul call; the Shaq and Dale vs. the Tennessee bench and Carlus Groves in the SEC Tourney in Birmingham that year; the Dale and Bob Knight feud coming to an end in their last game vs. each other...LSU basketball, with the politics, was a very interesting story in 1992. A lot happened to gain a team such national attention...and they were only a 2nd place, 7th seed team in the NCAA Tourney.
