I do not recommend or would use EZ seal.
Also check where you connect the refrigerant manifold to the outside unit service valves make sure the caps are tight and have an o ring in them and the schraders are tight.

Of course you don't recommend it. It has the potential to save a homeowner thousands
You probably work for 1 hr and want the commission on a 15k change out![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I don't know but I have an AC guy coming this evening to change out my fan motor for the second time in two weeks. I'm buying a window unit today for backup I'm sick of it

Mine was the evaporator coil upstairs. He's measuring and going to price for replacement. I'm sweating bullets (literally). How bad is my bunghole going to hurt after this? Still don't have a price.
Pretty sure mine is leaking too
It's an issue with the aluminum and copper causing a reaction that causes leaks
It's a POS goodman and Im not sure if I should replace the evaporator coils or the whole damn system

quote:See, this pisses me off. You have a leak, of course it will reoccur. Our guy put some kind of dye in during the winter service because we had a leak. Supposed to come out and trace it today. Better be fixed by the time I get home...or at least have the part ordered, in rout and freon charged. All under warranty.
Refrigerant low. No obvious leak. Said that if problem recurs he would come back and find the leak and fix it. Said it was likely the evaporator coils or the outside unit.

So, is 1hr not a good company? Because I am having similar problem as OP. I keep it on 70, and today it's fine since it's 70 outside, but the last few days the AC was running all day and couldn't get it lower than 74 until the evening. Air is blowing cold-ish, but not as cold as it should be.

I seriously believe they try to replace every single unit they ever look at. they even told me that my system was setup wrong. Wanted to replace everything 7k because of it. lmao. Setup was 100% to spec. I had a bad capacitor that cost 400 and two trips and signing up for year of paying 20 a month for their club before they noticed. Went out again last year. Replaced myself for 20 dollars.

Goodman caught up with the industry and moved to all aluminum evaporator coils (inside unit) 3-4 years ago. If the leak was in a POS Cu-Al coil, replacing it should be a permanent fix. It's rare for the condensing coil (outside unit) to leak.
You should google /Goodman coil class action/ and see what the status of that thing is and if you fall in the date range.

No I do not work for one hour!!!! I am a ME and adding any sealants to an ac system is against laws of thermodynamics!!!!!!!! You can do more harm than good!!!
