Maybe we can all agree... There is a culture problem... It's not racism.

I think racism, for the most, part is pretty much dead.
Sure, there are still some uneducated fricktard window lickers that hate people because of their skin color. But I don't see a whole lot of that.
What I do see is a cultural problem.
People that are obnoxiously loud in public for no apparent reason get on my nerves...
People that are rude at restaurants and don't tip their servers bother me...
People that are disrespectful to authority figures for no apparent reason get under my skin...
Seeing another grown man's underwear because his pants are below his buttcheeks grosses me out...
Having to decipher incoherent speech agitates me...
Having to avoid certain areas of town after dark due to the crime rates of those specific areas is an inconvenience and embarrassment to my city...
I'm not racist for feeling that way.
All of that has to do with a culture that has developed - particularly in the south, within the African-American community.
There are other problems that have developed as a result of the culture. Increased teen birth rates, single parent households, and the poverty that is a result - just to name a few.
It doesn't have anything to do with the color of their skin - as there are a lot of black folks that don't fit into any of those categories. It's a culture problem.

Speaking of weird cultures by groups of people...teabagging, killing trees, old women jumping on opposing fans, shooting another fan because they weren't upset enough about a loss, etc.

this is one of the stranger cultural problems to me. a lot within the Africa-American community seem to think cops pick on just AAs in particular, but cops bully all races. Most white people just understand that even though the cop is in the wrong, there's hardly ever anything he or she can do about it. normally we'll think "frick you" and just continue on with our lives. Most cops are just douchebags that abuse their authority, and they don't exactly discriminate color on that end. Classic proof is cops giving out MIPS left and right on LSU's campus, when more often than not the kid wasn't being belligerent. they just hate life having to work on gameday and want to rake in $$
They just hate dogs, as exemplified by the daily 15 dogs being killed on their owners property with usually little to no justification

Agreed. For the most part I think youthful Americans aren't racist. They just dislike the African American culture.
Yet we should note that this current African American culture is a direct result of slavery, which was founded on racism. The current socioeconomic status and lifestyle of the general population of African Americans is because of the way they were discriminated against previously. Their culture is a response to slavery/discrimination and can be traced back to it. Only time will change it

It's more about one's financial position in life that we are judged these days. We pick on white trash just as much as we pick on the poor segments of all races.

I completely agree that "50's style racism" is largely dead nowadays. One of the biggest problems in society right now is the fact that you're considered a racist if you simply point out those culture problems IMO. I don't like trashy people, black or white, and I don't know why some of the white guilt group feels the need to pretend that trashy black people don't exist

It's a bit more complicated. For instance, African Americans married at a higher rate than whites around the turn of the 20th century. If, for instance, the failing family unit is blamed on slavery, then how come it didn't affect those that actually experienced it or were most closely associated with it?

I agree completely. The problem is that these traits are commonly associated with one particular race (namely black people) and that bothers the hell out of me.
