Shouldn't Our Live Tiger Mascots Be Buried or Entombed on Campus?

Mike is such an LSU traditon that no doubt will continue as long as there is an LSU. Mike's habitat has arches out to Mike XX, which LSU may not see for another century.
What happens when a mascot dies? Are the remains incinerated and then unceremoniously dumped?
I think Mike VI and all future Mikes should be entombed on campus. I don't know where there's room in the Tiger Stadium-PMAC-habitat area even to bury urns with tiger ashes, much less the uncremated remains of 500-700 pound tigers.
I envision a nice mausoleum type spot where the Mikes' burial urns could be entombed, somewhere around the front of Tiger Stadium, maybe around the plaques for past Tiger football teams, or perhaps in the wall of Tiger Stadium itself. It would be dignified and a fitting resting place for all future Mikes, who are such a part of LSU.
There is precedent, since Mike I is still on campus in Foster Hall. I wouldn't be for stuffing every future Mike and lining them up like a taxidermy shop though.
I do think a nice entombment wall for the urns with ashes of all future Mikes would be dignified and add to LSU tradition--certainly better than unceremoniously dumping the ashes of our live mascots that have meant so much to every LSU student since 1936.

Put them in the tunnel the opposing team has to walk through. Would be creepy af.

Only UGA can pull that off

LSU should stuff them and line them up somewhere on campus.

I think they should have the heads stuffed and hung up in the tunnel the opposing team comes out of

We shouldn't entomb our live mascots. It's better to wait until they are dead.

Before the renovation, I think they were in the old habitat.

Mike I is stuffed and was displayed for many years in the natural history museum on campus.

I don't remember which one, but there is one mounted in the lobby at Ralph and Cakoo's I believe.

ehh the aggies do this with their dogs and even have a scoreboard set up facing the cemetery for the dead dogs to know the score of the game. It's a little weird, but I guess everything they do is a little weird.

Texas A & M buries Reveille outside of their stadium and has a small scoreboard because the new addition to their stadium blocked their view of the scoreboard.
Part of our problem is the space it would take up, since Mike is so much bigger than the collie or bulldog.

wait... why are we burying live mascots?
Posted on 3/16/15 at 9:43 am to timlan2057
Wait, we still have a "live" tiger. I hadn't seen him at the games. I thought that was just an urban legend.

In before Indian Mounds?
Posted on 3/17/15 at 12:30 pm to timlan2057
We should bury Mike in the old Micmac Indian cemetery out past the pet cemetery.

That is a good point. Not a bad idea

Cook them and put them in a Jambo for all at the game.
That way they live forever

Put it in the cage with piped in roaring noises...since we can't get the live one in on game day.
