offering Paris Saint-Germain's stars a staggering £180,000 per man if they beat Chelsea.
The French champions travel to Stamford Bridge needing to score in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against the Blues.

PSG's players have already pocketed 100,000 euros (£71,600) a man for getting out of their group, with that to rise to 450,000 euros for a semi-final berth and 700,000 if they compete in the Berlin final on June 6.

Common among second rate clubs whose only motivation/incentive is money.
Chelsea will be playing for the crest and the pride and honor that go along with wearing the Royal Blue and will win because of it.

There are incentives/bonuses for almost all players in all sports.
The players who make the World Cup teams get bonuses for qualifying for the Finals. In the MLB, guys get bonuses for winning the World Series and making the playoffs.
It's not an uncommon practice anywhere in sports.

Lol I mean Chelsea players got a $300,000 bonus when they won the UCL a few years back so that isn't true.

Yeah I'd ignore Randy on this one. I have no doubt there are financial bonuses for Chelsea (and other teams) players based on progression. Some teams might not have them for each stage like PSG, but they all have them at some stage of the competition.

Fixed it for you.

So basically this thread should read "PSG players won't pocket £180,000 each when they lose to Chelsea," right?

Lots of hate for Paris on the board.
Or at least when I read a topic or two here and there..
I was aware players get incentives but I mean in the NFL lets say.... that is all contracted? This is more of a -"Oh we made it here so if you win we will pay up"
The owners are middle eastern so I guess thats why

I'll give him this...John Terry at this point probably plays at least a little for the crest.

I didn't mean any hate towards PSG about this. I was just saying everyone has them but unsure at what stage they kick in at for each club.
I would see Terry, Cech, Ivanovic, each playing more for club than a bonus at Chelsea. I also feel Hazard is becoming more like this. But the majority of top players- Cesc, Costa, Courtois- aren't playing for the crest alone.

Come on guys obviously some tongue and cheek in there.
The only part I was totally serious about is PSG being a second rate wannabe club.

The same was true of Chelsea until I guess a couple of years ago. You could argue it's still true.
But don't you worry, Paris will win the CL all in due time, and will begin to pass the blues after that. The PSG model looks to emulate Bayern and Real, the true European heavyweights. Passing Chelsea is just a stepping stone and will happen.
The project is less than 5 years old. How long did it take Chelsea, a decade? PSG is ahead of schedule really.

Lol I'm so excited for this game tomorrow due to all the chatter about it on the board.
Posted on 3/10/15 at 4:25 pm to McCaigBro69
It will start on the pitch tomorrow and will continue in the boardroom when we sign Pogba instead of them.
