Skip did not bail out on the WinnDixie Challenge. The greenie AD at the time tried to play hard ball with Skip regarding equitably splitting the gate & Skip told her "we bring the crowds, we get to keep the most money. Take it or leave it". He called her bluff when she threatened to pull the weenies out of the tourney, Skip told her "see ya later". The UNO & weenie games were drawing less than 1,500 whereas LSU was packing in close to 6-7,000 for its 3 games. Much like this past wkend, when Houston played Baylor, according to a source in the paper, they drew only 200.

I guess we remember SOME details differently. But nonetheless, we, lsu, brought the most fans/ticket sales and eventually the tourney folded. The reasons, who cares, still a shame.
