Has anyone here ever had a car shipped?

I am buying a vehicle from a dealership in Atlanta and don't really want to drive there. I am thinking about having my car shipped there and then shipping my new one back. Anyone here have any experience having cars shipped? Are there any secrets to pricing and things like that? Thanks.

I flew 1400 miles to pick up, and drive back one of my vehicles. The other I just drove to Alabama to get. Why wouldn't you want to put hands on the vehicle before signing the line?

I bought a car from a dealership in Ohio and shipped it to DC. They dropped it off at my front door. It cost me around $375.
The dealer usually has companies that they use. Although you may find cheaper prices, IMHO its better to let them figure out all the logistics.

Why not go to a local dealer and have them swap for it, then buy it from the local dealer?

I don't know. Whenever I want a new one it just shows up at my house.

Through the dealer in El Paso had my new car shipped to Phoenix for $500. Delivered to my driveway.

Mercedes shipped overseas from the factory in Germany.
Went there and picked up the car, drove around the country for a week then returned it and they took care of everything.

I looked into it. It's cheaper to drive.

I had one shipped via car carrier to Seattle, then barge to Juneau about 3 years ago. Expensive and took 2 months.

Had a Harley shipped from out of state once. Good experience overall. Cost was less or equal to if I flew up and rode it back; which I really wanted to do but just did t have the time.
