I mean it's admirable that he's taking a discount, but unless he's using that money for fetuses to be pumped directly into his arm, shoulder, and neck... color me not scared.
because he wasnt a top 5 qb in the nfl last year with the same arm, shoulder, and neck

In that aspect, yes.

How does Brees' salary compare to Peyton's and Brady's?

Latrell Sprewell. That was his response to a 3yr/$21mil contract offer

I'm just gonna assume Papa John's just increased his deal by $4million recently.

Yes, he wasnt a good qb at all last year was he? Is he manning of 10 years ago? no.. but he is still better than 3/4 of the qbs in the nfl.

The article called it a paycut but doesn't say if it is actually a paycut or just a restructure
Edit: looks like it should be a paycut to some extent. Can't believe the broncos threatened to cut him

Brees is too selfish of a player honestly to do what Brady and Peyton did.
You have 9 superbowls between those 2 and 5 super bowl wins, and they are willing to take a paycut, yet Brees had to be highest paid in the league and supposedly won't budge.

Highly doubtful they threatened to cut him.

ETA: Everyone is a scout and cap analyst these days. Pretty humorous.

Brees base salary and bonuses (not signing) = $19M in 2015 and $20M in 2016 + add in that he got a $37 Million signing bonus that adds $7.5M to his cap hit each year.
Peyton had $15M last year, took off $4M down to $15M this year, and a $10M signing bonus adding only $2.5 M to each year's cap hit.
Brady $8M in 2015, $9M in 2016 and $10M in 2017. Only $6 Million in signing bonus per year, making his highest cap hit $16M.
So you want to defend Brees more?

Where you get dem numbers?
ETA: How was I defending Brees? I wanted to know their salaries before I formed an opinion.

Numbers are easily available through spotrac or overthecap. It's not that hard.

Why thank you. Please continue with your Brees bashing.
