Bourdain... Taught me that authenticity trumps all else when it comes to food.

I really like "Good Eats". It actually teaches you how to cook. That's become a rarity on TV in recent years.
I would love "Diners. Drive-Ins and Dives" if anyone else was hosting it. Replacing that douchebag Guy Fieri with Muhammad ISIS would be an upgrade.

I hate competition shows, so I'm probably the only person who hates Chopped. Plus, I can't handle their sob stories to win

I love food pornographic shows:

Best Thing I Ever Ate
Unique Eats (this one and the one above are basically the same show)
Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives
No Reservations/The Layover/Parts Unknown
Mind of a Chef
Food Paradise

My favorite food show is Food Paradise. I've seen "Steak Paradise" 20 or 30 times, but will watch it every time it's on.

Favorite competition show used to be Master Chef, but now it's The Great British Baking Show. Never baked a thing in my life, but it's kind of refreshing to see contestants helping each other, rooting for each other, not so eager to "go there" . The food is center stage, not the contestants.

Used to like Bourdain's stuff a lot, but I've come to believe that he's kind of a dick.

These are all good, but I'm not home when these types of shows are airing on LBP/PBS. At least I don't think I am. I always watch them with the antenna at my parents' house

Great Chefs: A big reason I got interested in cooking.

"Unlike other cooking shows, the Great Chefs programs are recorded entirely in professional kitchens rather than production studios. The Great Chefs website says "Great Chefs is the only cooking technique television series".[1] The program usually consists of the preparation of three dishes, prepared by professional chefs with little or no showmanship and with clear, precise instructions."

You kidding? I am a massive sucker for corny jokes. I sit in the recliner in stitches over his jokes while Jones looks at me like I need to be committed.

Mind of a Chef is really fantastic. Good Eats as well.

Also I like Anthony Bourdain - specifically his show A Cook's Tour. Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives is one of the most entertaining food-focused shows to ever air. Despite that he can be rather ostentatious at times (so can Bourdain) Guy Fieri is a great host and has done a ton to get people interested in locally-owned businesses again. Anyone who hates on him simply because he has dyed blonde hair and embraces a stereotypical Cali persona has no room to talk shite if they are on the other hand huge fans of Duck Dynasty, Wicked Tuna or any of the other reality shows that feature people playing up a pre-conceived caricature.

Most of them are on every night on public television 3 Create but it is sweeps week so they have some other crap on for the week. They also are on regular public most Saturday afternoons. Chris Kimball also has Cooks Country which is the same show.

Create rotates a bunch of shows every few months.
